Throttle jerking while stopped!
Hoping someone can explain this issue. My 08' g37s coupe AT has been wanting to rev on it's own when I'm stopped. It's pretty scary! I'll be at a stoplight and the throttle will start to rev and jerk the car. I have to hold down the break real hard or put it into park to keep it from speeding forward! Also, I've noticed that when the car automatically downshifts, it's very rough and it seems to jerk forward quite a bit. Could this be a transmission issue? If so, what exactly is wrong and is it covered under warranty?
 |
Sounds like transmission to me. Have you checked your fluid level?
|
Nope haven't checked fluid level but it was just in for service about 2000km ago.

It's the car's computer... go to the dealer and get it flashed. happened to me in a g37 and was like wth is going on.

Maybe your TPS?

The throttle position sensor needs to be recalibrated in the ECU or the sensor replaced. Typically they just replace the whole pedal unit and re-calibrate if the voltages are out of range.

oh and i should add, at the same time that I began having this issue, my outdoor teperature gage has been consistently inacurate by about 10 degrees over actual.

Had this problem on an older Z and it was the accelrator linkage sticking. Was able to fix it my apply lube to it. don't know for sure if this is what is causing it. |
hmmm that could be another possibility. I think I'm just going to take it in the the dealership and see if they can figure it out.
