Manual transmission fluid change

I was browsing through the owner's manual looking for how many quarts is needed to replace the manual transmission fluid, but the manual did not state how many. Anyone knows?

Also, do you guys recommend Amsoil Manual Transmission Fluid for our manual transmission?

From what I've read, using the OEM/Nissan oil is best. Switching may results in harsh shifts/sticking...

What mileage are you at?

I agree with "Bruce Banner" over there lol

I'd stick with stock.

nice! lmao

I only have 8k miles on my Z. Still got a ways to go before changing out my MTF. I am changing out the MTF in my other car and was just curious about the capacity in our 370z's.

2 quarts, I chnaged to redline. They make one specific to our Z's. It's been very smooth, especially when running cold.

Redline is good stuff.

Pure Bovine Scatology! Nissan fluid is probably the worst stuff you could use. Red-Line, Amsoil, etc. are very good alternatives. I noticed better, smoother shifts when I changed mine to Red-Line.

I second the motion. I used 6MT's recommendations and my car shifts better than ever....

When should the MTF be changed? It's 30k miles or 3 years for my Civic.

I switched to Amsoil synthetic trans oil 75w90. No problems in the cold, heat, racing etc.

Are these good for our 370z transmission:

I used Redline. Doesn't hurt to switch to better stuff ASAP. Then go by the recommended change interval. You fill it with a pump until it starts leaking out. I think you end up using somewhere in the neighborhood of 3.5 quarts.

I just looked it up on the amsoil website. What you posted in the pic is TOO THIN, it's actually a 5w30. If you really want to use amsoil, use the 'synthetic manual and transaxle gear lube 75w90 API GL4"

Ok. Thanks. I am using these for my Civic.
