warranty coverage
 

what size rims are covered by the warranty other then 19x9 and 19x10. i called a dealer near me and they told me to look on the cars door and whatever it says thats what it covers. but it only says 19x9 and 19x10. so those are our only options?

You would be covered for a defect in the rims themselves, but not any aftermarket rims you may install in place of the factory delivered rims.

i called the dealer and their like the warranty doesnt get voided but if the cars suspension is damaged because of the wheels then the warranty gets voided. so im sure if i put some rims on the car and something happens to the suspension because its defective their going to be like its because of the rims.

If you stick to the factory diameter then they couldn't justify that very easily. If you were putting on larger diameter very low profile tires, then I guess they could try to deny you based on that.

No offense or anything, but what's up with you and worrying about voiding your warranty? Due to the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, the dealership has to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the part in question (aftermarket wheels in this scenario) is a direct cause of the failure of an OEM part (suspension in this scenario). If they are not able to prove that your aftermarket wheels were a DIRECT cause for suspension damage or failure, then they legally cannot void the warranty granted to you by Nissan. Having aftermarket parts on your car alone is insufficient grounds for any dealership to try to void any part of your warranty. If a service manager ever brings it up, feel free to contact Nissan USA.

Just don't go ridiculously low offset or ridiculously wide wheel and you'll be fine. If you do a LITTLE research and get something that fits you'll be good to go. Trust me. Aftermarket wheels are probably the least likely to void a warranty compared to something like an engine modification.

A good wheel store/shop will not sell you the wrong rim/tire setup for your car; in fact, they will tell you it is the wrong setup. There are already parameters set with the factory wheels, and they can tell you what will properly fit within those parameters.

You can always do a good old fashioned measuring. Lower the car to your desired ride height (preferably using SAFE techniques, no spring cutting please). Adjust camber/toe/caster/etc. to your liking. Take a ruler and measure your inner clearance (clearance from wheel/tire to suspension or anything that might rub if the wheel is moved laterally inward) and your outer clearance (clearance from wheel/tire to fender or quarter panel or fender liner or anything that looks like it might rub). Go to the wheel fitment calculator linked below and plug in random specs until you get it right. Or, look for a wheel that you like and see what sizes are offered, plug it into the wheel/tire size calculator and see if it fits within the measurements you made.
