Just had a similar issue with my 7AT. The revs would jump up between the 5->6 shift if I'm on the gas. Seems to be an oil leak from my transmission cooler. I'm hoping that the shop that did the install is willing to fix it for free, and that there isn't any permanent damage to the transmission.

The issue I have had with my 7AT is this:
I bought the car used with about 35~36k on the odometer and have no idea if the fluid had ever been changed and did not think to have it done (just did not know until joining this forum). Anyhow, at about 44k on the clock I started having issues in the morning when cold that it would sort of hiccup when going from second gear to third and sometimes fourth. It would not do this in "M" mode however. I had the flush done at 49k which does not seem to have corrected the issue, does anyone have any ideas what could be the cause for this? |
I get slippage often - Mostly in the morning. But it it doesn't seem to happen in manual mode. Mostly in "D"
Let me know if anyone has a fix or knows if trannys going bad?, etc.. Idk |

Then it sounds like a warranty claim.

Having similar slippage with mine, again only in D, usually after a cold start drive.
Seems similar to an issue on the Gs: ITB10-075 |

It does seem odd that there's no corresponding 370Z TSB, given same model years and transmissions and it's just a reflash.

Question: I also saw on the service manual the tranny fluid is "maintenance free".
I do not notice any issues with transmission and is driving pretty smooth. Should I get a flush? I am doing my 30k service soon (33k miles). It seems like a lot of inspection and an oil/filter change. Maybe I should just have them look at it and change if needed? |
Well, Nissan says it's good for life. If you plan to have them do all the service and you're not keeping the car past the warranty period, then it's all their problem and no point even thinking about it really. Personally, I think that fluid should be swapped at least every 20-30k-ish depending on conditions. It's not that expensive to swap it (in per-mile terms over those change intervals), and it's good insurance for long-term trans health.

if i had an AT, i would just leave it until you notice any changes to how it shifts.
|
I weighed my options and just decided to not change it and apply that $ towards the extended warranty. I won't keep the car past 100k so it's all good.
