Clunk Noise under accel/deccel Files INC

Greetings,

I have lately been noticing a metal to metal clunk type sound on the rear of the vehicle, seems to be near the differential. It is more obvious during acceleration of the lower gears. I have bought my car to the dealer TWICE only to been told this is normal. I didn't have this noise earlier during the lifetime of the car, at least not as noticeable!. I have a friend with an 2003 350z witch does not exhibit this noise.

The files included are m4a Audio taken from the iphone of me driving around on the parking lot in first gear. Turn up your speakers and the clunk is evident during some of the accelerations. If you have experienced something similar please help!

I suggest uploading the soundclip to youtube or something.
If the other members are like me, they would be iffy about downloading something over the internet from a member who isn't well known in the forums

I understand, most file sharing sites are full of crap. I'l look for an not so crappy file hosting site...

****** bump *******

I really would apreciate if someone could help out on this.

I doubt i'm the first one experiencing this... :(

I Tested today with a friend who has an 2009 370z and his car does not have this bumping sound, and he noticed right away.

Hey - numerous 370z owners are experiencing this clunk - myself included. There are several threads on this topic. I took mine to the dealer and they replaced the rear-axles, but the noise returned after 10k. I do not believe this is "normal" at all.

Here's the OP's other thread and the solution.

The weak point is the CV joint in the axle half-shaft.

Do you have a picture of what this looks like?

I've started to hear some clunking coming from the rear of the car as well.
