NOTE: you can actually damage the linkage to the trans by simply trying to unscrew and force the knob off without holding the shifter in place!

When you say pop up the shifter console, do you mean the silver trim around shift boot, or something else? Thanks! :tiphat:

Nevermind...I found a great picture here http://www.the370z.com/diy-section-d...t-install.html (thanks e-licious!). I used channel locks on the shaft (with a towel around the shaft), and a plumbers style monkey wrench (again, with a towel) on the knob. A few hard turns and it was loose. Some minor indentations on the knob from the wrench are apparent. I'd use rubber next time.

Just did it...needless to say the oem knob is gone. And we cranked on it hard for a while before we were able to just use hands lol.
