Size of windshield wipers?

Anyone know the sizes for the windshield wipers?

(yeah, I know, I could just break out the tape measure, but I like to know what Nissan thinks they are supposed to be...)

Curiously, this information is not in the owner's manual and is not listed in any of the threads.

Anybody know? :tiphat:

Looking at the service manual, it references replacing just the blade part of the wiper. No info on complete replacements.

I seriously doubt they are proprietary, but they certainly look different than what I've had on my Mitsubishis.

Here is the refill: http://www.courtesyparts.com/26373p-...714_8880_9176&

The parent page to that has the complete blades. I think maybe the blades are the same size for each size? Looks like the base part number is the same for the 2 full blade assemblies.

What, seriously? I can't put a set of nicer, more duarable blades on there... FL rain eats these things up rather quickly :shakes head:

I edited my post. The cheapest option by far is to just replace the blade itself.

^^^ Thanks... although it's rainign at the moment, my curiosity got the better of me and I went out to check out how they're assembled... looks like 18" and 22", but I will double check later (they are curved to follow the contour of the windhsield, which is cool).

Relase lock thing looks pretty standard for a full replacment.

EDIT: No -- they are DS: 21" and PS:19", duh.

Let us know if you buy something else and how the fitment is and such.
Rain in Texas can get pretty bad and windshield wipers are a minor thing but I always notice mine seem to "suck."

Will do -- I usually get some sort of contoured sillicone blade (overpriced, but work really, really well).

I need to remeasure when I'm not getting drenchend tho' :p

Okay, I clearly cannot operate a tape measure

The measurements claimed by Bosch for replacements are: 21" for the driver side and 19" for the passenger side.

I recommend any wiper made of silicone that is contoured for the windshield. I've had good success in the past with Rain-X wipers. PIAA are supposed to be really good, although I haven't personally tried them.

Ohhh... good to know.

Valeo wipers are supposed to be the ****. TireRack.com sells them.

I just tried these on my Z and had to return them. I had them on my Jeep before and they were great but they dont fit the Z properly. The stock ones have an off set wipe blade and the Rain-X ones dont fit right. You should know by now what I am saying.

Really? I have them on and no issues whatsoever

Hmmmmm......I mean they fit on the arm just fine but because the original blade sits on there with an offset vs. the blade of the Rain-X does not, the Rain-X end of the wiper gets caught down closer to were the arm attached to the car. It's hard to explain but I know they wouldn't work properly for me. I would have taken a picture if I thought this would have been brought up in a thread later down the road.

What size did you get for the Rain-X. I think I got the recommeded 19" and 21".

Thanks,

Shane

I used RainX blades on my Z and they were fantastic. Can't remember the sizing, though. I think I went with the recommendation in the little sizing index.

Does anyone have a problem with their wipers being LOUD AS ALL HELL, when operating, regardless of the amount of rain or outside temperature? Mine have done this since day 1 to a point where I basically just done use them anymore.

Maybe I should replace the inserts with something else, RainX maybe.
For the person who used RainX wipers, did you have to replace the whole wiper or just the rubber inserts?
