Cat heatshield rattled loose/off

Was driving yesterday and heard a rattling sound. It was very metallic and pingy sounding. For a while I thought it was something to do with the passenger seat, but I then realized it was the sound of a heat-shield or similar thin metal item on the undercarriage. When i got home, I pulled out the flashlight and looked under the car and saw the passenger cat heat-shield dangling about a couple of inches from the ground.

looking back, I had a transmission replaced under warranty and am thinking a mechanic didn't tighten some bolts correctly after reinstalling the tranny and the subsequent road vibrations backed a nut off. Regardless it's at the shop -- should have it back tomorrow and no more rental versa :shakes head:Thoughts?

Well Trips, it was deceiving - it was actually the heat shield that's above the drive-shaft, just up close by the cats, so I was wrong; It cracked in half ....weird?

Best part, they gave me a courtesy "wash" which I've told them to never do because the Z is black and well, Nissan clearcoat sucks and I don't trust them near it... Got out to my car,it was "washed" with spiderwebs on every square inch of the clearcoat after their "wash" . From what I can tell, they just pushed dirt around and into the paint , creating swirls/spiderwebs. I was so pissed off! It was funny though, watching the body shop guy yell at the dude that washed it -- I'm assuming because the body shop guy is the one that's goign to be using the buffer all next week on my paint to make it normal again:tup:
