Probably not covered if it's your fault.

Ummm I don't see it listed on this website?... or am I missing something?

dudafunk 02-16-2010 10:02 AM

Oh yeah it was my fault :)

I had the same problem, and have since learned to keep the cubby closed when accelerating in an, ahem, spirited manner.

Here is a link to the part.

Yeah mine either came with a big scratch or I did it within the first couple days. The scratch isn't viewable from the driver's seat. Sucks, especially since it's $70. :shakes head:

Thnks for the URL.. see it now!

Okay, so is it an easy replacement or do I need professional help for changing this?

vipor 02-16-2010 04:27 PM

Just pull, pops out.

Good to know. My girlfriend thought I was nuts because I wanted a new travel mug without a handle. The handle on my current cup rubs the that chrome ring.

They need to make a carbon fiber one because all of the silver parts are very prone to scratching. I think the dash is mad way too cheap. Might have to wrap the dash in leather and suade to fix part of this problem.

You can probably find someone to wrap it in CF for about $150-$200.
