Ticking noise when rolling
2015 Nismo
So this isn't the normal ticking from the rear axel when pulling away, when rolling forward I get a ticking noise from I think the front passenger wheel (UK model) It happens all the time and speeds up and slows down with the speed of the car. It honestly sounds like there's a zip tie tied to the wheel and it's hitting something each time the wheel rotates. I've been under it and checked all around for something catching but I am unable to find anything obvious. Does anyone have any experience with this noise or anything to look at that could be causing it? Thanks! |
Inspect al the treads and see if something got stuck to the tire

I've checked all of them and there's nothing stuck.
When I spin the tires off the floor (up on jacks) I don't hear the noise |
Go to the DIY section. There is a thread on this problem.

Hey you might want to read this thread. See the link. The parts list is valid as is the fix. See the Pro-Bolt castle nut parts list posted near the end of the thread. This will serve you better than the factory Nissan Nut and retaining collar. It's the collar that causes the noise, it's too weak to prevent the moving of the axle over time. I suppose the Kawasaki nut will do, I just used the Pro-Bolt nut instead.

Thanks for the info guys, this isn't the normal rear axle clunking noise that is posted there though. It's definitely different, and coming from the front passenger side wheel.
