Is my battery dead?
Is my battery dead?
I tried getting into my '12 NISMO yesterday and the doors wouldn't unlock with the key fob. I was able to get in with the key, but nothing worked inside (no dome lights, nothing on the dash, and nothing happened after inserting the key and trying to start it).
I hooked up my battery tender, and after a minute or so this relay module started "clicking". Then after another minute, these bulbs in the headlights started flashing. I also noticed at this point when I inserted the key fob, the "Lock" light around the push to start was lit up (but wouldn't change after button presses, and the dome lights still didn't work).
Is this consistent with a dead battery? I disconnected battery tender, as it seemed like a bad idea to let the clicking and light flashing go on all night. I last drove it about a week ago, and I do remember the key fob light lit up on the dash.
Does anybody have any thoughts (besides part-out, lol)?

Get a cheapo volt meter or a multi meter and you'll see right away if battery is dead.

:iagree: Your battery definitely sounds dead. Your battery tender doesn’t have the balls to charge-a dead battery with a draw on it ( lights, radio, ignition etc. ) if at all, it’s a maintenance charger ! Get a volt meter as mentioned above or pull the battery and take it to an auto parts store and have them bench check it.

Battery is possibly bad - especially if more than a few years old and/or it hasn't been maintained properly. As per above, a cheap voltmeter will tell you present state of charge. But that won't tell you if the problem is with the battery or the charging system. Many places that sell batteries will check them for free. Also be on the look-out for parasitic loads when the car is turned off (eg, did you install a new stereo recently?).

I had the same situation with my 2012, when I left the ignition on overnight and killed the battery. It took about 3 hours on a heavy-duty battery charger to get it to where the car would start. Based on what you said, SouthArk is correct, go get the battery tested and charged (auto parts store will do it for free), install in the your car, then go get the charging system tested. Even money bet is that your battery is toast. Good luck.
