Sub-frame corrosion

Hi all

My 2009 370z GT just passed it's MOT.
53,312 miles

Garage reported;

Monitor and repair if necessary (advisories)
'Sub-frame corroded but not seriously weakened Central Rear [5.3.3(b)(i)]

I don't have capacity to get my car up on ramps at home and inspect this myself to send photos. Is this a known issue, or has anyone had a similar experience and can advise as to whether this is likely something that needs looking at or can be left? I'm hesitant to spend money on repairs now if this will take 2/3/4 years before it's a serious issue, especially if the cost of replacement is the same whether the part is partially or more fully corroded.

Otherwise, I guess I need to go back to the garage and have them get it on the lifts and send me photos of the corrosion which I can review from there.... that or leave it another year.

Thoughts?

Rust corrosion is not uncommon. You can probably clean it up yourself if you can get the car in the air.

Most likely surface rust, which is common with cars driven in the winter. Easy fix is to spray the area with POR 15, rinse, dry, then spray with rattle can undercoating.
