E-Brake light flashes on briefly during acceleration

I have a '13 Base Coupe 6spd. It's in good condition with 44k. This doesn't happen all the time (which probably means if I take it in, the tech won't be able to replicate it) but under fairly brisk acceleration - like getting up to speed on an on-ramp - the light indicating that the emergency brake is engaged comes on. It only lasts for a second or two but freaks me out, especially since I am speeding up at the time. I don't know if it's related or just a coincidence but I am usually upshifting when I notice it. The light works as it is supposed to the rest of the time. Has anyone else had an issue like this? Any thoughts? Thank you!!

Sounds like the little switch is probably flaking out.

If it is just the e-brake light, then Jayhovah may be right about the switch being bad or out of alignment. FSM (link in my sig) will have more info.

If you are also getting traction control light(s), then your brake fluid reservoir is probably a little low. Refill to top of full line.

It's your brake fluid. Fill to full mark.

And if your brake fluid is down and brake hydraulics are not leaking, check remaining pad depth- all this is indication brake pads have worn quite a lot.

Had this happen to my Z. Noticed the parking bark light flash upon hard acceleration. When I go my oil changed the service tech suggested new rear brakes. I was at 3mm for the rear brake pads.

Edit: See next comment.

I believe you were right, as the brake fluid was at the MIN level. I refilled the reservoir and hopefully everything will be fixed. Thanks!!
