Strange AT acceleration behavior

Hey guys,

first of all, sry for my english. im from germany and its really hard to explain what my problem is, but in my country noone can help me...

So as the title says i have a more or less big problem with my at transmission (I think)

best to see if i drive in manual mode
when i start accelerating from rolling in the 2. gear and shift up to the 3. gear the rpm raise from about ~2000 to ~3500 as they should - then drop down to ~2500 again with a second of staying in this position (all while still accelerating in the 3 gear) and then it goes up as nothing is wrong. same in the 4. gear and maybe in others too but its best to see in the 3.

i have a transmission oil cooler and the fluid was changed about 1 month ago. there was nothing strange in the old oil.
the car has ~90.000km

erm. and a stillen g3 intake and lightwight pulley, 200cell hjs cats, armytrix exhaust and finally an ECUtek tune. if its good to know.

hopefully any of you can help me,
thanks in advance
andi

First thing I would do is clean the MAFs. Dirty MAFs can cause hesitation and they are very easy to remove, clean, and replace (more than one DIY on this site). I'd also check if any DTCs have been thrown.

Ok i'll do this as soon as i'm at home.

I have no DTCs, i checked today with Nissan Data Scan

Thanks so far!

If the car ever hunts RPMs at idle, I would go ahead and clean the throttle bodies, too. It's a little more work than the MAFs, but still an easy and inexpensive job you can do in your driveway.

Yes why not... I did it once but who knows how they are looking now with the open filters of the g3.

But you dont think there are any Problems with the transmission?
Torque converter?

Edit:
Ok i just bought a Cleaner for the MAF's and one for the G3 K&N Filters. Should arrive on Thursday. For the throttle body i'll use brake cleaner. We'll see. :)

So i cleaned my mafs and have seen that one of them were pointing with the open end to the throttle bodys instead to the filter. Ha...yeah. Cleaned them, put them back in after a while (both sensors pointing to the filters) and got an cel. I dont know why and there was nothing saved.

My car is still driving but the shifting is not better...
Throttle bodys did i not clean yet, i did it already a while ago...

I'd clean the throttle bodies again really good and clean the MAP.

Like previously stated I'd also get the DTC checked and have the AT serviced and see if it improves. Good luck!

Ok i will do this tomorrow. do i clean the MAP with the MAF Cleaner too?

I have checked the DTC with torque and nissan data scan 3 (do not buy this app!) but nothing is saved there.

When did the behavior start? Have you tried reverting to the stock tune just to eliminate that being an issue?

Andi370Z 09-15-2018 10:50 AM

Sooo today i cleaned the Throttle Bodys and the MAP Sensor and made the Idle Air Volume Learn thing.

On the MAP Sensor was oil...ok so?

I drove about 100km and it is way better than before!
I'll see the next days if it gets better or back to bad but thanks for the tips so far!
