Will third-party warranty cover CSC fail?

1 Attachment(s)
I've done allot of research thanks to the countless threads/posts on the CSC failure on our cars. Although i'm stressing or not if my warranty will cover it as most people i was reading had Nissan's warranty not a third-party.

Was at a stop light, clutch went to the floor, felt no pressure allot of dead space, and gradually got worse. I parked to the side of the road and saw fluid leaking and a puddle underneath, i check the forum, and pretty sure its the dreaded CSC.

I've attached a picture of my Warranty. I notice it does say Clutch Master Cylinder but not Slave Master :icon14:

Am i covered? and if not is there anyway i can escalate it, normally in the other threads members would call Nissan customer affairs and had some success but not sure how i can escalate it in my case assuming they don't cover the repair. The car is currently at a Nissan Dealership since it was nearby tow and open at the time. I already don't like how they are trying to handle things... apparently they've never heard of the company providing my warranty and said they will have to find out if they even deal with them.... which is fine but they want to charge me 125/hr rate for diagnostics, BEFORE confirming that they will infact work with the company. I told him that made NO sense, i had to argue for them to find out if they can work with the company FIRST before attempting to diagnose the problem.. I am really hoping its all covered so i don't have to deal with this bs

According to section 3, only the CMC is covered. But I'm no lawyer.

****, Nissan themselves try to wiggle out of CSC warranty claims. I wouldn't expect a third party warranty to cover it at all.

I doubt the CSC will be covered.

I'm also no lawyer ... but Paragraph 3 does state the "transmission housing ... and all internal lubricated parts". Certainly the stock CSC is located within the transmission housing and it could qualify as being "lubricated" in the sense that the throw-out bearing slides back and forth on the main drive gear as the clutch is disengaged and engaged and there needs to be some lubrication to facilitate the back and forth movement ... but again, I'm no lawyer.

I was thinking that, and not to mention, correct me if im wrong but if i remember correctly in some CSC threads that the o-shaped seal was the culprit on the CSC which caused it to leak, if so than at the end of the paragraph on section 3 in my Warranty it says Seals and Gaskets are covered.

FWIW, a Nissan dealer told me the bell housing is separate from the transmission housing. So according to them the CSC is not located within the transmission housing. It is unlikely that a 3rd party warranty will cover any part of the clutch system. Consider yourself lucky the master is covered.

Honestly, it is not worth fighting with Nissan or a 3rd party warranty company over the CSC. Even if you "win" you still end up in the same shitty situation of having a poorly designed, prone-to-fail part that could leave you stranded at any moment. Best route is to just put in an aftermarket solution at the first opportunity whether the OEM one has failed or not.

Update: So the warranty does NOT cover it, nor does their top tier warranty plan cover it. Never again am i opting for warranty, waste of money. First day i take out the car since purchasing it and this happens. lawl.

I'm going to start saving for this issue myself. What is the best CSC elimination kit for this problem?

Hey ZeeMind14

As JARblue said, zspeed is great!
https://www.zspeedperformance.com/ZS...e-ZSP-CMAK.htm

I also recommend their clutches as well.. they will help a ton with your shitty clutches feeling so springy and jerky. I personally went with

https://www.zspeedperformance.com/ZS...SPSTG1-OPT.htm

Added the CMAK as well on the bottom of the page as an added option so you get best of both! Let me know if you have anymore questions about it!

ZeeMind did the Nissan dealership install your Z speed clutch and CSC? or did you take it to a private mechanic?
