370Z Low Oil Pressure

1 Attachment(s)
So I just dealt with my steering lock issue and I told them I was getting a periodic oil lamp icon which was followed by a slight vibration of the car.

They did a deep diagnosis and this is what they gave me. Almost a 4k repair

I'd hate to lose this car. I live in the tri-state area (delaware to be exact) and I was wondering what opinions people have for this issue. I'd be willing to drive a bit to get a trustworthy place to handle it cheaper.

Your oil pressure issue is due the oil galley gaskets on the front timing cover. Maybe someone in your area can post a trusted shop.
If you don't get it fixed you will loose the engine.

Do a search on here, they are serviceable. You don't need to replace the whole front timing cover as it appears they want you to do.

If you post this in the Engine & Drivetrain section you will get a better response.

There was a big discussion on the myg37 site about this. I believe someone did replace just the gaskets. Seems to affect pre 2012 model cars.

i just did this job on my 2012, its fairly simple and straight forward if you are mechanically inclined. plus it will save you hundreds of dollars

Cool, thanks for the help.

I took it to a place around me that works with nissan/infiniti. They replaced some sensor and performed an oil change. The light went away.

However, the dealer did a deep investigation so I know the gaskets are still a problem. They are going to replace parts in the timing chain area and I'm going to do a couple other bits of maintenance while they got it open.

My real concern now is making sure they use the new metal gaskets. I am waiting on a invoice from them showing what they are going to use.
