Optima Battery Red Top Fit?

So today I had my battery replaced at work because it was needed. The size they had was assured it would fit my car but I noticed it was slightly shorter and narrower than the OEM. The specific battery did not come with the height raising attachments which at first seemed fine. The technician used a rubber piece to raise the battery but as far as being to narrow, it was too narrow. The battery did not line up with the bar properly but he went ahead and tightened everything down and everything is nice and snug. I just want to make sure this is okay and not something to worry about down the road.

Check the link above to Optima's web page I checked the 2012 and both yellow and red top fit. If he has it nice and snug I think your good to go!

I'm going to assume the red and yellow tops are the same size. So did you have to also raise the height of the battery and was the mounting bar that goes across the battery too wide for the battery on your yellow top?

See if these pics help.

YES! This is exactly how mine looks except it's red. The lip of mounting bar across the battery hangs off a bit but it's still tightened down firmly. Awesome, so nothing to worry about! Thank you!

Red top fits for sure, only thing that happens with mine is that not driving for about 3weeks I have to charge the battery for it to get it working

trickle charger needed

somethings not right here. I have a yellow top in mine, over a year old, and I store my car through the winter. This year, I wasn't able to make it to storage unit for almost 2 (gasp) months due to work, and other personal events.
Car fired right up.
If you're going dead in 3 weeks, you have an issue of some sort. I have heard stories of a bad batch of "tops" coming out in recent years, as a result of Johnson Controls sourcing them out of mexico. I cannot verify the truth to this, its just what I Heard.

damn might of gotten a bad batch then, went through amazon...

You need the spacer for the battery.

In my opinion, don't bother with Optima. They've had an apparent drop in quality over the past years.

Look at the Exide AGM. Cheaper and better. I fit a 24F instead of a 35 in my Z. Larger, more CCA, but fits perfectly. I know it's too late, but figure I'd recommend it anyway.

Exide Pure Lead, or Odyssey Extreme, which is the same as the Exide Pure Lead last I saw, are both good options as well, but are priced high.

I actually chunked the spacer & mounted the battery lower & a tad further back...notice in pic's I installed the holding bracket reversed to achieve this & a small spacer under front stud...nice & snug w/plenty of room around it.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...eb274bba3c.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...813173474b.jpg

What kind of spacer did you use?
