First trip in for warranty work

I am taking the Z in to get some warranty work for the first time. Should be interesting due to all my aftermarket stuff. However, none of what has done should have any bearing on what needs fixing.

First, there is horrible rattling coming from the three gauge pod on the dash. It is simply annoying as hell.

Second, there is a weird clunk sound when I go over an abrupt bump in the road. It sound like it is coming from under the dash by the firewall or under the cowl area under the hood. Very strange noise.

Third, one of the rear hatch struts is leaking, dragging and making noise.

Fourth, the driver's seat seems as if something is loose. It makes noises like the seat isn't totally locked in poisistion.

Almost made 10,000 miles before it needed warranty work. Anyone else have any of these issues?

I just passed the 10K mark on my 14 but no issues so far... just changed the oil lol

For your seats, is it the manual option or electronic?

Have a 2014 Touring w/sport package for 13 months and have only had oil changed. Though mileage if only 1900 no problems at all. Z is tight and fast.

only 1900 and you had it for 13 months?!
When do you drive it? lol I have the same but with more miles haha

Manual seats. I have really had no real issues. (except those I caused lol) Rattles, creaks and leaks are minor and can be fixed. Still doing better than our GTI that had a water pump go out at 3,000 miles or my Ram that needs a TPMS replaced at 1300 miles.

Correct. Only if the weather is good and the sun is shining. Just another one of my toys.

Yikes, I put twice that on mine in the first month :icon23: Even my dealer was impressed when I had to make my first scheduled oil change within the first month :rofl2:. I have cut back significantly since then though, these tires are not cheap and do not last long considering they cannot be rotated.

I got the seat wobble also on my 14, it is the seat base on mine. If I hold the front it moves up and down. I didnt take mine for warranty as I didnt want to end up with more damage. I just raised or lowered the seat and it doesnt wobble anymore.

Also check the roof liner, on mine there is a ever so slight gap between the driver side door window to seal . Again, cant be asked to take in for warranty. I can live with it, but cant live with the stress of visiting a dealership and their monkies working on my car.:shakes head:

Let us know how you get on. Just an FYI make sure they inspect your car for visible damage inside and out before you hand over the keys.

Dealerships are WORTHLESS. The end.

I told them to keep the car a few days. Drive it a few times a day to give it a chance to make the annoying sounds. A few hours later they call me to pick the car up. I guess they did not even replace the trunk strut that is LEAKING. It is ok though. I can turn into a nagging, annoying SOB. I will eventually annoy then, and Nissan, enough to fix stuff.

On a happier note... it is still fast and purdy.
