Nissan really is about to miss a prime convertible season if they don't hurry up and get the cars to the dealerships. I've read a little bit that they are showing up in some dealers up North- anyone hear any rumors about Texas?

le sigh. I wanna get some seat time!

I'm expecting mine to be here in two or three weeks...I don't know what they had in mind with not selling them until now...I suppose they didn't want the roadster to overshadow the Nismo but introducing a roadster in the fall seems odd timing at best.

I'm kinda surprised that the dealers are in the dark as much as they are. I've asked around Dallas and I get this "2 or 3 weeks"...that was 3 weeks ago. HA! No cars yet... :)

the Nissan rep had one at Z nationals this weekend and said they were in transit to dealers right now.

They are out, just not everywhere. Mine will be here on 10/15

There are 51 Z Roadster Tourings on the ground in the Northeast right now! Not one with a Sport Pckg though:confused:

What's up with that? I don't think I have had heard much positive feedback on the base wheels. SEND the "Sports"... :excited:

I find it very wierd that there are no Sports Pckg and almost no Navigation cars. Also none yet in the Dark Cherry with the wine interior. I've had a deposit for over a month on a loaded Dark Cherry and Nissan is telling me I'll get the car in February:mad:

Mine should be delivered sometime next week; we've got several at the plant with the sports package and at least three of the Black Cherry; we also have at least a couple with Nav.

That said, I've no idea how generally difficult or easy it is for dealers to get roadsters with the sports package and/or navigation.

I ordered the Black Cherry with Sports Package and Navigation...we'll see what configuration I wind up with when they deliver it! :)

I still haven't seen one. I think we have decided on BlkCh/Wine/Bor/Sport/Nav but we want to see it first. Won't be ready to buy for a while but are living vicariously through you all. :happydance:

Most of them will be hitting Nov/Dec.

My local dealer left a message on my machine...
 

today to let me know that they have one on the floor. No details, but I will be going by sometime this week to take a look. I will take my camera if I don't go straight from work(no cameras allowed).

What a good looking car in person, though. Every bit as nice as the pics I saw.

What's up is that they were likely looking for a quick, cheap place to put the antenna...my suspicion is that since the rear deck lid was already unique to the roadster it was cheapest to put in there than do the changes necessary to put it, for example, on one of the rear quarter panels.

It looks very odd. I never noticed that in any pics before but it stands out pretty bad in person!

The top kinda sounds like they haven't worked out all the kinks yet. Tomorrow we'll remove the rest of the plastic and hope that makes a difference.

There will be a company that will be making a 2 inch antenna, so don't worry about it.

Do keep in mind that it does stand out more in the pic above since it's contrasted against the transport tape that is put on the car for shipment...it doesn't stand out quite as bad without the tape since the base of the antenna is body color and the "stalk" is black which will likely stand out less with darker color vehicles.

That said, the antenna still isn't very attractive IMHO and if anyone wants to put a significant spoiler on the rear deck the antenna may well be in the way.

One of the reasons I dont feel bad for ordering the coupe.

According to a local paper here at the bottom-most tip of Texas, the roadsters are now on the lot as of today. And where I live, if it is here, it should be pretty much anywhere else.

Mine was delivered to me on Tuesday...I took a few pics at a car show yesterday (Saturday the 14th) that I'll try to upload today! The weather here was perfect for a rid (70 degrees and lots of sun)...pretty lucky for here in the middle of November.

Mine is a Black Cherry (wine interior and top) 7AT Touring with the sports package and navigation, illuminated door sills, etc.

The new navigation system is a significant improvement, even compared to the nave in my '09 Touring Coupe!
