I want my Roaster exhaust to be loud!!!

which is the best out there. Money is unlimited for this. I past a corvette the other day and it sounded amazing; the earth was shaking as i stood there..lol

Kingbaby 08-01-2012 03:24 PM

You do not have the balls to run something that loud...

RandyD 08-01-2012 03:26 PM

AAM competition Ti-Tip short tails ftw :)

Quick370z 08-01-2012 04:06 PM

i just have the stillen intakes/exhaust and thats enough to make people go wow

but obviously theres 'louder' exhausts

cdoxp800 08-01-2012 04:24 PM

FI long tube headers. Yea, I say leave it open headers. That will be loud for-sure

Highway 08-01-2012 09:10 PM

GTHAUS Meisterschaft GTS Ultimate Performance Exhaust is definitely loud.

jlbrenne 08-02-2012 07:44 AM

Italy- I have not done my research on the Ark Grip V2 yet. What does the exhaust sound like compared to others??? How much are you looking to get for it? No problems on 2010 Z roadster??? Thanks

jlbrenne 08-02-2012 09:09 AM

Highway- I def. like GTHaus | Meisterschaft Exhaust Systems. However, for a full catback they quoted me $2,844 shipped. To me that is just waaaay to much. Hell, I would pay a little over $2k but not $$$3,000 for an exhaust. Does sound fantastic though. Im lookiing for the that sound but jsut a little cheaper

speedfreek 08-02-2012 09:46 AM

Wait a minute so money is not unlimited for this?!?! What about wait time? If you can wait 3-4 months for it to be built I would look at Fast Intentions. Go non-res and it will be very loud. I just put my 18" res with HFCs on and it is loud when on the gas and sounds great at idle. I can't imagine how loud the non-res version would be in comparison in person. It will run you roughly $1400 or less depending on if you go resonated or not. Unless you want CF cans that will cost you $275 more on top.

There are some vids in the link.

Fast Intentions

red6spd 08-02-2012 09:50 AM

Fast Intentions Non-Resonated Test Pipes and Non-Resonated Cat Back. The GT Haus is three times the price as this setup and I have still yet to see this exhaust make any gains.

wstar 08-02-2012 09:51 AM

FI's LTH + Catback are *really* loud in combination with each other. I don't think you can get must louder without dropping the catback completely (which would probably be horrible for performance anyways).

jlbrenne 08-02-2012 11:56 AM

Yeah, I think im going to go with the Meisterschaft. Hopefully, it wont be to loud on my roadster when the top is down :)

jlbrenne 08-02-2012 11:57 AM

I honestly, just like the rumble of a loud exhaust initially when you start the car..That Holy **** whos car is that.

Kingbaby 08-02-2012 01:04 PM

Correct we all do! The thing is to most a loud exhaust gets boring real quick when you can't hear your music...when you can't have a conversation in your car...

The downside always cause folks to switch exhaust often!

I would recommend a cutoff valve so that I'd and when you want the loud...it's a button away...

jlbrenne 08-02-2012 07:49 PM

Hmmm...I didnt know that you could do a cutoff valve switch...how does something like that work. Is it common enough that any muffler shop can install..and why doesnt everyone get a switch?????

blitzebill 08-03-2012 07:53 AM

being a new Corvette owner, there are several to consider:

Corsa

Borla

SLP

B n B

each has mild to wild versions that sound awesome.

jlbrenne 08-13-2012 08:42 AM

Alright guys, I'm going with the GTHAUS Meisterschaft GTS Full CB. I will be ordering this weekend and getting shortly after that. It was pricey, but get what you pay for right!!!!

In your opinion is there anything else that I should be getting to fullfill my exhaust needs along with the Meisterschaft???

Thanks for any suggestions or thoughts!!!

If LOUD is what your really after then I'd get a set of LTH's from Fast Intentions to pair with the GT Haus.

Bandit_Kaine 08-13-2012 04:54 PM

If you want loud on a roadster get AAM Short Tails. They won't net you any horsepower gains but will get you a V8 sounding loud exhaust.

They are LOUD. Since youre on a roadster no need to worry about drone or cabin noises.

I'm selling my week old AAM Short Tails (Too loud for me). PM Me if youre interested.

One_Quick_Z 08-13-2012 05:36 PM

Anything paired with Long Tube Headers will be loud enough.

But if doing exhaust only HKS with Test pipes is decent.

jlbrenne 08-13-2012 06:10 PM

Bandit- I was looking into the AAM Short Tails initially. However, most say that the GTHAUS Meisterschaft setup is even louder...Plus the gains and to me its a NO BRAINER.

Quartermaine 08-14-2012 07:45 PM

Will it be louder without an exhaust and no headers? How will that sound like? Just curious.

jlbrenne 08-16-2012 09:44 AM

I'm going to stick with the full CB setup with GTHAUS and see how that works for me. People have been PMing me stating that it will be loud enough w/o anything else. Example: a guy I talked to has the exhaust and the y-pipes but not the mid section. He stated that was loud enough for him and he likes his cars super loud. I have the full CB so that will be even louder. I really wish for HP gains that GTHAUS provided a chart :(

Do you plan on adding HFC or ART pipes in the future ? That will make it even louder, plus decent power gain. Pair that with CAI or MAF tube/filter and a tune then you are pretty much set.

Let us know how loud it is after it is all done.

I don't mean to sound like a hater (I've owned 2 350 Z's as well as a C6 Corvette) but your Z will never sound like a Corvette.

Don't focus on loud. The Vette you heard likely had a big lumpy cam in it if the ground was indeed shaking and it sounded good. No exhaust (or lack thereof) is going to equal the sound made by a large displacement V8. A big cam in those cars makes a huge difference in the sound of the car.

In the Z cars you are probably not going to change out your cams (it's a simple and cheap job with the Vettes, not so much with the Z's) so choose your exhaust mods carefully.

Take your time, talk with and HEED THE ADVICE of a good shop. Don't just read random posts on the internet about what other people think is a good sounding exhaust. Listen for yourself and in person if at all possible. Otherwise you are going to have something that's loud, drones like heck, and doesn't sound very good.

jlbrenne 08-19-2012 07:27 PM

Thanks jcosta I have everything in order now.

jlbrenne 08-26-2012 01:08 PM

Well GTHAUS is finally installed... And I got my wish. It's amazingly loud!! I love it.

Can you hear your music or drone in cabin?

jlbrenne 08-26-2012 04:41 PM

I can hear my music just fine...even with the top down. You can def. hear it in the cabin but you can also drive to lightly and you can hear anything at all.

No drone? cool!

Keyo Racing 05-09-2013 06:31 PM

Must have been my Corvette because I have Billy Boat Bullets and YEP.....it's loud! LOL
But I don't think you can get these cars to be that loud anyway. You know going to get them to sound like a V8.

Z370Z011 05-09-2013 07:43 PM

just go open headers... thats always loud

roplusbee 05-09-2013 09:44 PM

Wait.........what? First, Aug 2012 and the next post is today? Second, You must not have heard the F.I. LTH + TDX combo. It's pretty deep and loud when it counts.

I am running the TT-TDX and love it. Pair that with Greddy open WGs and now you are talking. Bring the Vette.......bet the Z turns more heads, lol.

jlbrenne 05-10-2013 11:15 AM

lol....I'm glad that my post is still circling the boads. Since, I have added Berk HFC's and I tell you what it sounds amazing if your looking for something obnoxiously loud. The power it added was more then expected (and yes, I did a before and after dyno).

jlbrenne 04-06-2014 07:33 PM

Ok guys, this was one of my first threads when I came to this forum a while back. Since, a lot has changed.

Please check out my sig for all my mods.

HOWEVER, THE QUESTION STILL REMAINS....I WANT MY ROADSTER TO BE LOUD..LOL.

**well, a little louder than it is now..and its pretty damn loud.

I need suggestions- is there anything else I can do other than test pipes?? I want to be able to pass emissions here in Atlanta plus I like my high flows...

Thanks in advance guys!

As you have already surmised, the cats have to go if you want more volume (and more power).

Thus, long tube headers into a high flow H or Y pipe set up would be ideal.

Failing that, you could try high flow cats with everything else open (i.e., no mufflers or resonators).

Exhibit A: Muffler delete on a non-resonated FI exhaust

also it's catless as well :tiphat:

IDZRVIT 04-07-2014 05:28 PM

Money still unlimited? Loud and sound like a bad a$$ vette? Only one way to do that. Get yourself a bad a$$ 434 sbc with 650 hp and run open headers. Otherwise, quit dreaming.:driving:
