Any good deals on 14's

I thought with the 15 being around corner the dealers would be more willing to discount the 14 nismo. It does not seem to be the case. The best that 2 of my local dealers could do was 43k for a 14. They said if I wanted a touring they could discount that $9000 off msrp. Why so little wiggle room on nismos?

NoHyperbole 08-27-2014 12:03 PM

Which dealership is offering $9,000 off a '14 Touring? The MSRP for a '14 Touring/Sport/Nav 6M with a few extras like floor mats, trunk mat, mud guards, etc., is $42,249, so $33,249 sounds pretty damn good.

jopa201 08-27-2014 09:46 PM

If you want one he is selling one for 34 msrp is 43k

Spooler 08-27-2014 11:34 PM

No idea on why no Nismo wiggle room. I looked at a 14' Nismo and the dealer wouldn't deal either. I found my 12' Nismo with 19,000 miles just 2 blocks down the street for 29K. I bought it that day.

I will probably buy a used one too just because they loose soo much money in the first year.

Lowest I could get the dealer in Cool Springs, TN (which is close to Nissan US headquarters) on a 14 nismo was $40k. It had been on their lot since the 14 models were released. Even with the threat of 15s coming soon that had better stuff plus Nav they wouldnt budge any lower. I ended up getting a certified pre-owned 12 nismo with 26k miles for $28k. With the amount that I financed after my downpayment I feel so much better than if the deal would have actually worked on the 14.

I'm sure this has been discussed but it does make sense. I don't care for the back seat but as for the other 2 it makes sense.

I posted that on the 370z FB page, no one heard of torque news they said and all debunked that post of mine.

What is the best way to deal with a dealer?
I'm new at this.
Not sure if its still available but there is a red 2014 Z with sport and has about 8400 miles on it.
Its not at a Nissan dealership but at a dodge/ram dealership. It saids it offers a 2 maintanence deal. Whatever that means. I assume oil changes.
They r asking $31k. But obviously it doesn't includes taxes and fees which would take over $35+ k easily.
If I could get it at below what they r asking for I could just pay it off. No payments.
But I don't want to out right say I can pay it off. About maybe 10k or so would be on the card and the rest would be in cash.
Any info would be great

Common strategy is to **** talk your lover Z the whole time. Try to find any damage/scratch/ anything that can be used against the car. Do not show them that OMG I LOVE THIS CAR. Other than that, check a lot of Z's around to have better understanding of pricing, also check online resources and your own budget.

And last but not least, do lots of search and do not rush into getting one and get :owned:

Tadpole 10-09-2014 04:36 PM

Here is what I know... They are asking 31k for the car so this means they paid right around 26k for it on trade. If you have cash a good reasonable offer would be 29-30k out the door for it. Wait till end of month to present your offer. Bonus and perks are offered if they meet their sales goals so there will more than likely be some broke salesman to bite. Don't budge from your offer and walk away if they say no. Give them your number and tell them if they change their mind to give you a call. It took me 5 days to work out a deal on my Z and I didnt budge on what I brought to the table.

tvfreakazoid 10-11-2014 04:41 AM

Thanks.
Now what do I say if they ask how much down payment I can put down?
I know its not a good idea to tell them cause they will work it out in their favor even though it seems like a good deal.
But I know I could pay it off fairly quick.

Don't talk anything than out the door price. The less they know about your finances the better. Agree to the price with them and then pay however you want.
If you are wanting to finance which I suggest you do with the low rates on autos you should consider getting approved through your bank or credit union. You would then have more buying power and a choice on which is better for you.

tvfreakazoid 10-14-2014 05:22 AM

Thanks.
If u don't mind me asking what was ur OTD price for the Z? And what yr?
Did u the touring w/sport ?

I had a hard deal to make. I had a 2012 ford f150 that I just bought and had for 3 months and they paid the thing off and I paid invoice on my 13 base which was around 34k at the time. I carried over a little negative equity from the 350z I traded in for the truck plus tt&l and I was out the door on the 370 with no money down at 37k out the door

Tadpole 10-14-2014 06:49 PM

Wasn't to bad of a deal. My Z stickered out at 35,600 in may of 13

MFFJM2 10-16-2014 09:35 AM

I got my 2014 new touring with sport and nav, backup camera, Bose, for just under $36k, at Sheehy Nissan, Springfield, VA. It's also solid red.

Tadpole 10-16-2014 10:38 AM

I wish I would have waited until end of year and the price drop in 14. I could have got the touring package for about the same price but they had a gun metal which is my favorite with automatic on the lot waiting for me to buy. I couldn't pass it up!

Hey i got the same deal. I waited till end of the year and they told me 35999 otd with everything including registration of the car. Mines a 14 sport/touring/nav.. they always drop prices at the end of the year.

1amongZfence 12-02-2014 02:02 PM

I got my 14 for 21xxx with 35xx miles, after I traded my 04 touring 350 with 90xxx miles. I'm happy.

koeppelnissan 12-03-2014 04:11 PM

The dealers have no support from the factory. The only way for us to make a deal is to lose money. There are no rebates, no low rates, no dealer cash. It sucks right now. I am $1000 below invoice to move my 14s, but that is less than a 4k discount, so it doesn't seem like a deal to many customers. The leases are back to emabarassing.

You just have to find the dealer that has the car and beat him up as much as possible. They will decide what's worth moving the metal, but most don't want to take a hit!

When do you decide to take a hit and move on? My 2 local dealers still have 2 new 14 nismos that they are asking 45600 for. It's been there for 2 years now and they have not dropped the price.

tvfreakazoid 01-27-2015 03:47 AM

So its better to wait til the end of the yr?
Damn I font know if I can wait that long

Tadpole 01-27-2015 05:31 AM

I just bought my wife a new leftover 14 Maxima for $23,800. It seems the Z will never have any good deals on them.

koeppelnissan 02-02-2015 08:35 AM

Maximas are volume cars, so their are thousands of them around, triggering huge -4k plus - rebates. The Z is such low volume, that they don't warrant the same concern to put rebates and move them

So what happens? Do the cars just sit there until they find someone who will pay the price or will the dealer eventually sell them off to an auction? I have my eye on a few cars in the area and they're just sitting there. All trims of the '15 model are readily available at most dealers now. You'd almost think they wouldn't want to order as many 15's with leftovers sitting around.

Go to the dealer and throw them a bone. If there is a 14 leftover I'm sure you can get a good deal but still nothing like I did on my maxima.
