I'm in MD and was able to find a VA dealer which agreed to give me $1k under invoice, no processing, no freight. Out the door $1k under + tags, title, tax. We brought one in from another dealer and it ended up having factory paint flaws when inspected closely (buyer beware -- always look closely). They asked me to purchase from their inventory but I didn't like the color combos they had in stock (nothing wrong with them, just don't like them), so I decided to bite the bullet and pay invoice for a 2010 Z order. Now I'm on order for just under $40k for a 2010 Red/Black/Touring/Sport/Nav/SplashGuards/FloorMats/TrunkMat.

Update: the price of just under $40k INCLUDES MD State Tax, tags, etc... "out the door"

That's BS. Debt is BAD. Always consider the TOTAL price, not just the PAYMENT.

And you know what that does? It plants a seed in your head leading you to think that it can be bought at such low-balled #'s.

No more input from me on these kind of threads because we'll all have these "experts" come out of the woodwork claiming to know the esoteric, inside secrets on how to buy a new car 1000's below invoice yada, yada yada. People who know how a new car dealership operates, and how it "makes a killing on you even if can buy beaneath their holdback."

Good luck bro. And btw, don't you know you can buy it $1,000's below invoice? ;)

It can be done. Do you want me to send you the email from a Nissan Dealer in VA currently offering $2000 below invoice on EVERY in stock vehicle except GTR?

I have been shopping for the past 2 weeks and I'm trying to get a 370Z auto, w/sports package. The lowest OTD price i have got is 35800. Now i keep seeing you guys say that a good deal is anything close to invoice. Do you guys mean like OTD price has to be close to invoice or before tax/license and is 35800 a good deal.

When people say invoice they are referring to before tax/title/license, each state has different numbers so the OTD price can vary slightly. Now if you plan properly you can easily known exactly what the OTD price should be and can haggle based on that. Just keep an eye on them trying to throw in some hidden fee or something.

Irondog, you got a pm.

Don't go to Buena Park Nissan in Cali. Long story short, I was quoted a certain amount by two different dealers (in an e-mail). When I came in I was told to kick rocks. PM me if you want details.

A lot of people want AUTO but they're becoming more hard to find. Especially if you want the base model.

Anyone else have issues with this dealer? I'm not big on knocking dealers (or believing what I read). I would have brought the email with me, demanded to see the Sales Mgr, and read him the riot act. Sometimes it is just a rogue salesman doing stupid things.

Nothing against CervanteZ...I'm just askin'........now I do the dance....:ughdance:

why does everyone want auto :( makes no sense to me, it's a sports car, manual is clutch ;)

Good price would be the true invoice which is like 28,000 for base + sports.
But too bad dealerships rip the **** out of us!

He printed out the e-mail (mind you this quote was for 1400 off invoice with destination included) and showed it to me. I also had it with me. He gave me a quote of 500 more PLUS destination fee (720), so technically he was giving it to me for invoice price which is what everyone else was doing, and had the nerve to tell me he was doing me a favor. I just got back from overseas and checked in my new command, I don't want to create waves on my first few days being back.
I don't "knock" dealers, I had a problem with one dealership and simply giving people a heads up if they choose to deal with them. :tiphat:

And this ain't an Auto vs. Manual debate loc.

It's October, in just a couple of months, we have 2010's rolling out. Car market still sucks, it's a buyer's market. Deal baby deal :iagree:

Maybe a complaint to Nissan USA, I dunno. I hate salespeople like that, and I used to be one, heh but not like that. :shakes head:

Let's just say that this dealer won't win any customer awards if people complain about the way they are treated. We need more Lou's.
