Is this a great deal?

All,

I am back in the market for a Z, after selling my 2010 fully loaded to get a SUV for the family. Now I have the following which i am very tempted in getting

2013 Z
Sport
Nav
Midnight Blue
8000 miles
One Driver
Clean Carfax
----
Seller asking 30k.
I think i will pull the trigger ..But need advice.. Great price or nego?

You can get a 2014 with zero miles on it for 1-2k more can't you?

He's talking about sport touring with nav. I think it's a 43k car

correct. A new Z with auto/sport/nav will run 43-45K OTD.
I am trying to get the seller to nego down to 28K. He's stuck on 30K. It's been in his garage for 4 months no bite from buyers. He's an older gent who can't enjoy the sporty ride of the Z. Needs to sell it. I checked out the car yesterday. Very nice color comb. Love the red calipers.

So i proposed 28K cash. I would own tax on it, making the final price out to 29,000. Which is a great deal.

Let's see if i can a xmas present for myself :)

30k sounds almost too good to be true. To clarify, this is Touring with factory Nav?

I agree. Clean title?

28k is probably what CarMax would give him. I know when I sell cars if I'm going through the hassle of private party, then I want to make more than the easy path, which is selling to CarMax.

OP - if this is the car you want, don't let this deal pass you buy. Offer a more reasonable price such as $29000 or $29250..

Carmax has a new on (except 6MT) for $38.3. Not horrible. Just an FYI to folks here.

that's what i thought. It's a Touring (leather,etc..) with Fav Nav unit. Only reason he's selling is because it's not comfortable due to back/neck surgery and needs a practical ride.

His loss is my gain.. if the deal goes through.

The Carfax checked out. Only 5 records since buying the car. IT's the standard maintenance stuff at the dealership.

Price seems good at the range of 28k-30k.
At the end, you will be happy. Especially not dealing with the dealership.

sucasa 12-26-2013 01:34 PM

Waiting on buyer to respond with counter.

In the meantime, there are massive discounts on 2013 loaded Zs. Found a new one in my area:

2013 New Z
50 miles
Sport
NAV
Auto
Midnight Blue
---
36000 before Taxes and Tags

I reached out the dealer. He's gonna work w/ me and see if we can get the deal done. It's been sitting on the lot for a long time.. i hope he's willing to get just rid of it to make room for newer models. year-end quotas to fill :)

go to edmunds.com and check out their True Value Appraisal. It seems to gives a decent estimate on used market cars.
