How Scarce Are The 2009 Getting?

My understanding from this GREAT site was that Nissan originally figured on 30,000 units. They cut their projections down to 10,000 when the economy hit the skids. I have gotten a great offer for any Z I want, conditional on a deposit for "THE ONE I WANT" I see a lot of maxed out Z`s on the lots.

I don`t see any lower end at all. Mid level really scarce.

I want a Touring MB 7AT, Persimmon. Is this combo getting scarce?

Should I jump on one that is not exactly what I want?

I have a trade that doesn`t qualify by 1 MPG for the $3500, although the salesman said, "no problem". Yes it is a problem. That $3500 is a deal-maker or breaker. IF the right Z is available......

In a 50 mile radius search around my locale, the dealers are probably stocking about 75-80% Touring models. Bad for me, as I see no purpose in spending another few grand on what amounts to heated leather seats and an MP3/Bluetooth radio. Still, what you want is out there as long as you're willing to do a little driving (or have them ship it).

There is a huge, last shipment coming in Aug/Sept. And then that's it.

Wait a minute, so I can find a 09 370Z in September when I'm buying?

You should contact your local dealer, who will work with you, and have them do a search and take it out to October, and I am sure they will find something. I have 12 Z's coming in just Aug

when i was looking around with my dealer there was at least 40 in western washington comming in.

i recommend going and and throwing your deposit down. thats what i did.

why is everyone going bananas after the 09's? are going on a break before they start sending out 2010's?

There will be 09's on the lot when the 10's are being shipped and received!

It will be close. We are getting close to september production, which we are in the month of August. So when we get to Spetember, we will be in October Production, let's hope there will be 2010 allocations in October Production(because there are none in August production) which will mean 3 months to get from Japan to the Dealership puts you at January. I hope I will be out of 2009's by January. I have been sitting on 4 Z's for awhile. But I am fortunate to sell them before they come in. :) I hope this enlightens everybody on the allocation/order of 2010's. I haven't seen a single one yet.

Hmmm I wonder. I think my Z must be with that lot. Because the last update I got was that it is headed over from japan and should arrive between 2nd-15th of August to baltimore port. From there it comes to germany and then i finally get it. I orded MB/Persimmon fully loaded Manual. I got this information from the company I ordered it through they had a email from there home base cause I kept bugging them about where the car is.

They did push back some shipping dates, I have two orders for some Fourm Members that are July production that won't arrive at my Dealership until October. They were shecduled for Mid August. I hate the ordering system sometimes, but we all get caught up in the process of life.

Mine was built in June 7-12th or something like that somewhere in there. So I guess the 3 months puts it at August. I probably wont see it until Beginning of September cause it has to go on a boat to germany after it gets to the states lol. My Z will have plenty of water time lol. Fusz my dealer told me that they don't usually get the VIN until it hits Nissan S/S processing which is stateside processing. Truth or False?

Don't know about overseas, but It usually recieves a VIN when it's built. Or I should say completed.

why is 3500$ a dealbreaker? I don't get it... like the guy on CNN with an 83 Vandura in camo paint... saying that he's ready to write a check if they'd take it... I wouldn't take a check from anybody driving that... hell, I'd be ready to draw down.
If 3500$ is a dealbreaker, should you really be shopping for a new car in the first place?

I wouldn't say the 09's are gettin scarce but getting one in the right configuration that you want might be. I know when I was looking for mine there were only 3 in the whole country that matched. I know others on this board are finding it hard to get the combination they want. There are a lot of 09's left but the question really is if they have one in the combo you want. I honestly would have rather got a 2010 as it would have allowed me to save up even more towards my down but once I found out that yellow was no longer being made and that there weren't many 09's in that color I jumped on the ball.

I would say Yellow and Blue are scarce. Navi, depends on what your dealer stocks. I have plenty of Navi. But I know the demand is there.

QUESTION*

when the 2010's come out and the 09's r still on the lot, about how much in price would the 09's come down?

they're going to try to sell it same price but we all know they wont

2010's I am guessing DEC/JAN . A lot of dealers have been selling 09's for invoice or below for some time. So I really don't see it getting any cheaper, no matter if 2010's are on the ground. I just wouldn't discount the 2010's greatly until the 09's were gone, but at the same time, while not hindering sales. It will be a fine line.

Because it amounts to 10% of the MRSP, even more % over invoice. What would be your dealbreaker? A takehome price of $45,000? A 370Z at any cost? I don`t get it...

Just under $4k extra for those heated leather seats and radio upgrade. I agree....
ALTHOUGH..... Those Persimmon leather seats with the MB body color is an unbeatable color combo...........

I would like to say thanks to everyone one this site for all the one-of-a-kind info on the 370Z phenomena. Whether I agree or disagree with you on a particular point or opinion is irrelevant. This is the best forum for all things 370Z period.

I believe the 2009 370Z is a classic that we can own now.

Was this considered a special order? Or were you able to get like price close to invoice?
