24month at 66% msrp =w/tax $985 = $23,640 less 8.5% = $21,630

24 mo. to buy w/ VPP $38,075 (MSRP $41,840) w/ $5,000 down - $1,451 payments (Z value =66% off leaves $15,000 Div. by 24 = $625 per month in your pocket ($1451 - $985 = $466 mo.) opps $159 compaired to lease.

36 moonths at Didn;t give = w/tax $650 = $23,400 less 8.5% = $21,411

36 mo. to buy w/ VPP payments are $996

Those number do seem a bit high.

Leasecompare.com always has good money factors and residuals:

No, I don't work for them...

Always lease if you can...

No, you are just paying the depreciation. If you buy, your car depreciates the same amount as a leased car.

Why always lease? Because in 3 years if you have an accident, you can just turn in your lease. How are you going to sell your wrecked Z? You won't. Not with Carfax and the other services today. People see the wreck and you'll own that Z forever.

My last BMW lease had 2 accidents that were not my fault. There would have been no way I would have sold that car.

Leasing is way smarter. If you don't like the car, give it back. If you do, then just buy it at lease end. Most car enthusiast get tired of a car after a few years. Look at all of the fools trying to sell their 350z now so they can get a 370z.

G in ny 01-24-2009 01:54 AM

I asked around some dealers for 3 years 0 down 12000 miles a year
This is what they told me
Dealer#1 = $740/month
Dealer#2= $700/month
Dealer#3=$670/month

Leasing company that one of my freind works in $564 a month

This is a fully loaded Z in 6mt

Currently my monthly payment for my G is $466 and I put down $5000 when I leased it. But im not putting anythiing down this time.

Might be getting into a Z soon!
The prices are ridiculos right now. But it wont be changing anytime soon. Their new maxima still goes for the same price and its been out for almost a year.

Well is that with the penalty of ending your G lease early? Or will you just buy out of that? If so, how much is the early termination fee?

G in ny 01-24-2009 06:54 PM

Since its infiniti there is no termination fee and I wont have to pay the remaninding months

navcom46 01-24-2009 08:00 PM

nazzdeq,

you are absolutely correct!!!! that's why I leased my 2009 370Z 2 weeks ago, in my contract the residual was over $20k, no way in hell it will be worth that much! specially these depressed days!! You get to drive the 3 best years of a car's life!! I had a hell of a time trying to sell my 2004 350Z! and I never did, some idiot rammed into it and totaled it! Thank God!! I will never buy again unless I'm keeping the car forever, and it better be a Toyota then!! Certainly not a sports car! After 3 years I'm ready for another sports car anyway!!

espo774 01-25-2009 02:11 PM

Im actually thinking about leasing a 370z. I currently own an 06 350z, and originally wanted to lease that, but the lease programs were terrible, and I paid less per month financing it. What do you guys think its possible to lease a base 370z with sport 6MT, for under $500/month? I really would rather not put $5k+ down on a lease. But let me know what you guys think. Im looking to put down approx 3k or so out of pocket, for no more then 36 month lease. thanks!

Wow, that's a great rate. Which company is your friend with.
What's the MSRP and actual sale price he's basing those numbers on?
Here's what I got for a car that MSRP'd at 40,635:

money factor = .00325 (or 7.8%)
12K year - 57% residual - 39 months - $894.44 up front - $594.44 per month
- 0 Down - ~$620 per month

15K year - 56% residual - 39 months - $903.54 up front - ~$605 per month
- 0 Down - ~$630 per month

I have a 4 year lease. 12K miles a year on a base with the sports package 6MT. I paid $1450 down and my payment is $487. I dont know for sure but I would say that $3000 down for 3 years and this is very possible.

all you paid was $1450 out of pocket???no way....you must have paid the taxes and stuff, and it was a little over $3k out of pocket due at signing, right?

Does that mean your friend w/ the $564 a month lease is with Infiniti

G in ny

Leasing company that one of my friend works at is $564 a month ? w/ 0 down

This is a fully loaded Z in 6mt -ie... $41,840 MSRP or what?

Currently my monthly payment for my G is $466 and I put down $5000 when I leased it. But I'm not putting anything down this time.

I'm not being a smart a** :

Infiniti is taking your G back early at no cost and leasing you a new 370Z for $564 a month plus tax for 3 years and you do not need to pay any of the licence fees. Is that it????? - That is $20,304 plus tax ($6,768 a year)

Please let me know -- I'm in that boat with one year left on an Altima. Be nice to get the Z in 30 -to 45 days.

I swear to you. The taxes were $1450 and I paid my first months payment which was $487. That was it... not a penny more.

msb3079 02-06-2009 08:42 AM

some of these lease deals on here are rediculous...

maybe i'm used to the good residuals for my G.. i don't know...

my G37 coupe MSRP was around $43,000
i think i negoatiated to $39,xxx

no money down.. just inceptions fees, first payment, etc.. so like $1,500 out of pocket.
$549/ month for 24 months.

I read some on here are putting down $5,000 on a lease and still paying more that this?!?!?!
NEVER put down money like that on a lease.. if the car gets totaled.. you lose that money.

+1

The rule of thumb is to not put any money down on a lease for cap cost reduction. There are some exceptions, like putting a small amount down to lower a security deposit if you are right on the threshold on a smaller deposit (ie. $505), but generally you should not put down anything.

Would any of the leasee’s mind posting the full details of their lease.

Does anyone know the buy rate for leasing the 370Z? This would help people in negotiating a good money factor. There is usually a low and a high, giving room for negotiation. The dealer will obviously start with the high and hope that the buyer has no idea that this is a negotiable item. This will have a big effect on the monthly payment.

I leased a Lexus IS350 for 3 years, but I got tired of it after only a year and ended up finding somebody to swap with. If I lease again it will be for 24 months, but those are harder to find.

What did you dislike or grow bored with in the IS 350? The Lexus along with the 370Z are on my top 3 list right now. I'm still leaning towards the Z of course but was curious as to what your experience with the IS 350 was. Cheers.

If you don't mind me asking, what did you get tired of with the IS350? I had considered that car as well as well as the Z of course.
