Yup, its only new to this year for Infiniti to be seen overseas.

The G37 and the 370Z are nothing alike to me with the exception of some internals. :driving:

Mechanically, they are very similar. But they serve different functions.

^^ yeah, thats the whole point.....LOL

but the pricing of the Z is too close to the G IMO !!
even though Nissan and Infiniti are the same brand, there should still be a price gap between Nissan and Infiniti.

Z is a better sports car. G is a better luxury car. Different cars.

Exactly. The G is nice, but it is probably $5,000 more than the Z. When I said the Z was superior, I was speaking performancewise. I don't need a back seat. I had a G35 for 3 years and not once did anyone or anything sit in the back, so I don't need the back seats. I would much rather save $5,000, go faster, and look better in the Z. Therefore, the Z is a better car (for me).

G coupe with all the premium and sport options plus nav comes out to almost $45K. So a 370z touring with sport and Nav coming in around $40K seems about right. To put this into perspective, the 300ZX was going for $40K in 96 when it was killed by Nissan. Taking inflation into account that's about $52,000 in today's dollars. Given that the 370Z is more performance and better tech for $40K fully loaded now its not a bad deal.

RCZ 12-18-2008 09:28 PM

Yes different cars, but tell me what the G can do that the Z cant? Because I can tell you a few that the Z can and the G cant.

Maybe I'm just not informed enough about the options available on the G. Seems to me like interior quality and ride quality are up to par now?

Do tell me if I'm wrong, I need to know these things...

I didnt mean to say it was better, I just meant that I like it better. Sorry

He's comparing it to the 300ZX I think shumby. How do you have 719 posts and you joined this month...

Edit: GOOD LORD 100+ posts per day average.

Again, that's because you're speaking on just performance itself. A luxury sports car offers extra amenities, class, and luxuries. Which is why its called a luxury car. Didn't think it was that complicated to understand the concept behind a luxury sports car.

I still think the G has a far classier interior, and I'm assuming it has a smoother ride, as the last gen G/Z differed in ride quality.

shumby 12-21-2008 04:08 PM

the G and Z are different beasts. The G has a more classy interior but it is suposed to the Z is a sports car it should ride ruff handel well be fast and have some goodies on the inside but not too much. The Z kicks A$$ in the market it is in it is exactly what it is suposed to be

Well, I don't want to pay 40K for a car, but the fact remains, I want the touring trim, sports package, navi, and even the floor mats!!! With 12K down, I'm looking at nearly 600/mo. But you GOTTA love the car you drive, right?

I figure it's worth it if I'm happy. Then about 4-5 months down the line, another 8K out of my pockets and I'm twin turbo'd! :D
