100 over invoice turns into 1000?
My dealer originally told me that he would give me any Z with any add ons for 100 over invoice. After speaking with him on the phone today he tells me he has located the exact Z to my specifications, its 450 miles away.. and he is going to have to go up to 300 over invoice to help pay for the cars trip to the dealership in my town. So, this is what the Z has:
Touring, Automatic Pearl White 370z /w Sports package, Illuminted kick plates, Front and Trunk mats and the painted splash guards. Total invoice price= 36,191 (excluding destination fee). Total price dealer told me on phone= 37,700 Now here is my questions. Im guessing he added in the destination fee in his total price which would bring it to 36,911....then if you add the +300 over invoice it = 37,211. Where is this extra 500 coming from, just trying to make extra money??? Can he charge me extra money to ship it from a dealership along with the original destination charge from the factory? Also.. how do I go about telling him "hey, you said 100 over invoice.. that should be 36,291... not 37,500". Also, should i push to try to get it even lower than 100 over invoice or am I trying to be too big of a meanie? I mean this guy has to feed his family lol. |
I'm guessing the difference is for tax and tags. By the way $300 over invoice with the 450 mile delivery is more than fair.
|
I do not believe that people are having trouble picking up Zs under invoice... I would walk out if the dealer told me even a cent over lol
|
Doubtful a dealer is going to be as aggressive with his pricing if he has to pick up or make a trade 450 miles away.
|
yeah i dont know if the price he told me inluded tags or what.. waiting for him to call me back

Now if there is a missing or extra 500 in the deal I would definitely find out, but he may have quoted you the out the door price. |
I got a touring sports nav fully loaded options for 37,500. 5mt though,
tell the dealer the price is a little high and your reconsidering....they will freak out and offer it to you cheaper. |
A. He can charge you for transportation from another dealership on top of the transportation fee from Nissan.
B. You have the power to decline the deal and haggle. I would just let them know what you want to pay for the car and go from there, but depending on where the car is coming from, you are probably going to pay for a transport cost. Work it into the deal |
Pl. thanks FusZ!

They make a 5mt now? I bet the gearing is a bit more aggressive on that than my 6mt. Sh!t... I wish I had known about this option when I got mine. As to the OP... Did you discuss the "out the door" price and know he's trying to change that? I'm in the dark here. |
No, we didnt discuss the out the door price.. he said "sticker is 41,500, i can give it to you for 37,xxx" then i said is that the 100 over invoice price? and he said it was 300 over invoice (because of the added 200 for shipping the car 450 miles). Im going to talk to him in depth tomorrow . I cant even express how much i want this vehicle so blehh, ill try my best to get it as low as i can :D But i know HE GOTS KIDZ TO FEEDZ!! :eekdance::happydance::driving:

Ask Where is the car coming from? Flat bed or driven with miles put on the car? $200.0 for 450 miles flatbeded, seems really cheap.

Har Har har. Takes a while to get used to the fact that I have another gear after having 5mt's my whole life. |
its definitley flatbed truck, he mentioned paying someone to put it on their 18 wheela to get it here.
|
Alright, the deal is for 37,600, which is 600 over invoice, which means he is basically charging me 500 dollars (so he says) to get the car from 450 miles away to me. If he doesnt try to throw in any "extras costs" somewhere i suppose i shall just accept.
