$4k Under Invoice

First post - I just wanted to pass my shopping experience on so others can benefit from what I learned.

I live in the Portland, OR area and was doing some serious Z shopping. Started out wanting a Nismo, but decided we couldn't spend that much, so started looking for a base coupe with the sport package. In talking to dealers I could find deals at invoice, but nothing better. I did the internet quote thing and found a dealer that would sell me any Z for $1k under invoice - certainly better. I still didn't want to pay that much so I almost quit looking and then decided to take a look in the Seattle area.

I found the dealer in Fife, WA (Larson Nissan) had some amazing deals listed. A 2013 base coupe for $27,895 - that's $4k under invoice. I was skeptical, but talked to the guy and he had the car and it was for real. I told him I really was looking for a base + sport. He called me back and told me he found one nearby and would do the same kind of deal - $4k under invoice plus $150 doc fee.

I went back to the local dealer I had been working with and laid that out. They did a locate and agreed to match the $4k under invoice deal. I since talked to another dealer I had visited early on and they also said they could do it.

We haven't bought yet, but I wanted to get the word out. It seems they can sell these things for $4k under invoice and still make money. The salesman I've working with locally was Gabe at Allan Webb in Vancouver, but you should be able to get that deal anywhere. The Fife dealer has the deals on his website, so you can use that as leverage if your dealer doubts you.

Them are some killer deals but to me it looks like they are on the 2012s

Densz 01-30-2013 07:57 PM

One on the Seattle site is a 2012, the other is a 2013. I was offered $4k under invoice on any 2013 at both dealers I worked with (except a Nismo). If I were anywhere in the US and couldn't match that price, I would be looking at a fly-n-drive to somewhere where I could get the deal.

Call me a skeptic, but unless you sign on the dotted line for the 2013 I wouldn't believe the dealership. It's too early to be giving such a discount on a 2013. I totally believe them on the 2012 though.

im the gm of a nissan dealership for 11 years and there is no way on this planet a dealer would sell a 2013z for 4000 under invoice, and on top of that to go and locate it?? so pay a driver to go buy a car from another store, then take it to your store and sell it for 3000 less than you just paid for it??? does not sound right!

I'm just passing on info that should be quite valuable to anyone contemplating buying a new Z. If you don't believe it I don't really give a rat's ***. I had that offer in writing from two different dealers and they've both been calling me today to try and close the deal. They obviously aren't losing money on them. If you choose to pay more, have at it.

You might consider that they know something we don't. We're clearly very near the end of the 370Z model run, so there could be a very good reason why the pricing is what it is.

Internet Rule no. 1 when you find a crazy deal (I'm talking about all you slickdeal, gottadeal, fatwallet etc users ;). you know who you are) : Buy yourself the item first. check your email for order confirmation. Then tell your friends about  haha

but seriously, that's an awesome deal. I don't think it gets better than that if everything is right. Jump on it before someone from the forum might :hello:. Good luck and hope you get it (and don't forget to post some pictures here when you get it :tiphat: )

hell i would be jumping for joy to get one for 2,000$ off invoice.

so when do you guys think the 2014's will be coming out. i dont mind a year old model but i dont think i will be able to get mine for about 3 more months and 2012 will be gone by then i would assume.

if i do end up waiting until the 2014's come out how long would it be before i could get a good deal on a 2013 stated above 2,000$ off invoice???

I AM 3500 below on 2012s, and that hurts, just want to move them!

SS_Firehawk 02-02-2013 06:01 PM

I would imagine the 12's would sell better than the 13's. If I wanted something that looked like a 13', I'd just get a 350Z. For shame for sport package rims! I got mine for about $4500 off with VPP and tax free from deployment, talk about double the awesomeness.

Nice share OP.

That price seems fairly standard. I bought an 2011 auto base for $29k just by walking into a dealership in March 2011. They had some 2010 base manuals for $27.5k.

4500 off MSRP is one thing, and believable especially with VPP. He stated 4000 below invoice, which is pretty crazy, to say it nicely!
