When do you get a VIN?
 

When ordering a Z built by the factory, at what point do they typically provide a VIN? I was told by a friend that it is roughly 30 days before it hits production .. but then, that was for the Fords he has had built for him.

Supposedly my Z is being built this month.. we're halfway through the month.. and yet I still don't have a VIN. Kinda wondering what's going on. :eekdance:

For some reason, I have had cars fully built before receiving a VIN. you will have it before the end of the month. They just don't update their system of reporting to the dealers often enough!

I know how you feel, my car is being built this month as well and I don't have a VIN number yet either. My dealer told me that it should be in at the end of November. This wait is killing me...:icon08:

What did you end up ordering? I wonder which of us will get our car first. =] Guessing it'll take longer to get to Hawaii than Arizona...

I got a base sport 6mt in solid red, what did you get? When is your car expected to arrive?

A Nismo in Magma red. The dealer is expecting it mid to late November, but my order in the system shows an ETA of December.

When is yours arriving?

Nice the magma red is a sick color! But the dealer told me end of November. I just hope it arrives on time :ugh2:

And I gotta admit... as much as I like magma red, I wish the new blue was available on the Nismo. I'd have gotten it for sure. =\

Yeah the blue is really nice that would have been my second choice of color!

I still don't have a VIN.. and my car was scheduled to be built in October, so it should be done and getting ready for its boat ride. Sigh.
