I think he told me a week or two, then it's gotta be shipped over - I think that's the longest portion (shipping > port > customs > delivery to dealership).

I'll chime in on this as I ordered my 13 back in May of this year and received my car in August. I have the whole story in the Introduction section and the thread is titled 2013 On Order, includes the price I paid for my car.

Long story short, actually ordered my car from 2 different dealers. One asked for a $2,000 deposit (which I gave them, it's refundable), the 2nd didn't require any. The dealer I left the deposit at never kept me informed of anything, I always had to call them. The no deposit dealer followed up with me every step of the way and they got the car a month earlier than the dealer to whom I gave the deposit. Things that make you go hmmm?

Anyway, got it from the no deposit dealer and couldn't be happier with my 13 370Z. :driving:

I didn't have time to go back to the original dealership and get more information on the process, but does anyone have any information on the deposit/ordering process with Nissan?

Dealership2 did say that a Vegas dealership had a 2012 Monterrey Blue base + sport 6MT, but I would have to be okay with them flying someone out there and driving it back from Vegas (who are, and I quote, "A bunch of ********.") - putting 350-400mi on my brand new car. I immediately declined that option.

I am gettting the exact same Z; '13, base, midnight blue, 6MT.

When I was ready to purchase a couple of months ago, I requested internet quotes and found a local dealer who had placed a stock order for the exact car I was looking for. I put a deposit on the car and the dealer gave me a copy of the order sheet. A couple of weeks later when the car was built, I received an updated copy of the order sheet with a VIN. The car was ordered on 6/6, was built the week of 7/20 and scheduled for delivery the week of 9/14 (last week). Unfortunately I spoke to the dealer last week and the inventory check showed the car still did not have a rail ship date. They are checking evry date for me to get a delivery date.

I will tell you that most dealers dont have the tools or know how to get exact tracking. Mine was told to be "on hold" with the dealer but then it showed up on time...
depending on options it may be put on hold at the port i.e. Jacksonville Fl or wherever your delivery port is.

It is typical to have them not show up on time but sometimes you get lucky like me and have it show up on time with no issues.

Yeah it sucks that they don't have the tools to track cars, but on the bright side mine showed up Wednesday and I drove it home Thursday morning. Will post pics soon!

That red looks nice!

Can't wait to see a midnight blue one at an angle like that (or in person).

My dealership should be getting one shipped over soon. Hopefully I'll be ready to buy by the time it gets here! :excited:

Wow that looks amazing!

Loving the magma red. I brought my RX8 in to service yesterday.. across the street from the dealer (I know, I know) was a Nissan dealer that had a shiny new 2013 magma red sitting out front. I had to have the Enterprise car rental guy drive buy it so I could drool.

Can't wait for my Nismo... *twitch*

Got a copy of the order for my Z yesterday. The dealer thinks it'll be here mid/end of November. The order ETA lists 12/12. Hopefully it'll show up sooner than December! I still don't have a VIN, tho. =(

Picked up my Midnight Blue on Friday.

I wish the Nismo was available in Midnight Blue. =\ Magma Red will have to do...
