got boned on my last deal, help with new pricing!
long story short, drove 3 hours to see a Z that I have been working via phone/email, the salesman calls me when I am 5 miles from the dealer to tell me another salesman was working a deal on it ans it was sold...looked at the car anyway and has some undisclosed flaws, good riddance. looking to persure one of these three:
2009 White Nismo, 26k miles - $28,600 (wish it had lower miles..but Nismo hmm) 2009 black nismo , 32k miles- $28,995 2010 White Base/Sport, 10K miles, 6 mo factory warranty left, 28,400. Would love to walk away only paying 27k for of these...Going into fall here, but do these seem reasonable? The one I was going to buy was a 09 touring.sport for 26k, with 21,000 miles. Any input would be appreciated, the two white ones are practically in the same town, I am going to go try and see both of them tomorrow afternoon. Going dealer because I am financing 20k with a PNC check ready and paying cash for the difference(up to 10k if needed, but less I pay for the car faster it gets modded!) So its practically a cash deal too. |
$27K is totally reasonable. PM me and I'll share some additional details about a deal that I just made...
|
sorry to hear the other deal didn't work out bud. thats crazy that they called you last minute like that, I would have them reimburse me for gas or something :icon17:
As for the 3 new prospects I would go with either the 09 nismo or 10' sp. The black nismo is almost the same price as the white, but with almost 6k more, so that is out, unless you really like black. Between the white nismo and white sport I would say you would have more bargaining power with the 09 nismo, as it is older, more miles. However, the base/sport is a year newer, and it has the warranty left over (if that is important to you). So I would say it boils down to who gives you the better OTD price. Either way with the 20k check plus 10 cash you should be walking away with one of the cars, unless they both sell. :icon17::tup: |
I just bought a 2010 base with sport package with 1,473 miles on it for 26,500 so they can be had if ya look hard enough so don't settle ;)
|
For 29-30K I would not even consider buying it used. I picked up my 2012 brand new for just a little over that.....

That's an amazing deal man, how did you get that? |

Nope no TYPO ... 1,473 miles on a 2010 370Z I was lookin' for a 370Z on Car Gurus and just happened across it ... had to travel 3 1/2 hours to get it but it was well worth it :driving: |

Depends on how far ya willin' to travel ...
I had a 2009 Nismo with 28,000 + miles on it in Texas down to 26,800 and was gonna fly down and get it but then I found the 2010 and talked them down to 26,500 Sometimes ya can find someone willin' to deal and sometimes ya can't ... just be patient and have a set price in mind for what you're lookin' for and ask ... ya have nothin' to lose ya know ! |

Buy new. Also all of the ones you're looking at may have the oil consumption issue not to mention will most likely need brake and tire replacements depend on how hard they were driven those dollars add up. I'd spend the extra 1-2k just to have a new vehicle I can know the entire history of. Look for 2012s dealers are dying to get rid of them since 2013s are out. They WILL cut you a deal |

YEAH but is that 31,200 OTD. Or are you looking at like 34k-35 now. It also depends where he lives too. In California, you can't even come close to a price like 31,200. Most people i ask seem to be hitting 34-36k OTD here in california for base+ sport. And 2012 even a few months back was hard to find. Everything sucks in cali lol. |
Ya, PA sucks for sports cars, im looking in a 250-300 mile radius. I looked for leftover 12s and found very few withing my travel range, none the color I want. the 13s as stated all had the price bump. Average in the area according to truecar and my research is about 27k, which is my target price. Its 10k miles will factory warranty still left and plenty of power train for the one im going to look at tomorrow. I have MANY connections to nissan, so the used part does not bother me, for 4k I can do suspension/exhaust/intake easily.
|
what do you need in the car? 6 speed or auto? let me know and I can help you find leftover 12s in the area for you!
|
6 speed base+sport, prefer white, black second. GL, western PA is a depressed crap hole... I found one in Maryland, but its listed for 35, even if I got it for 32, I can save 4-5gs for a 10k car, for me the saving are worth it IMO.

Seems like a lot. I got mine in 2011, an '09, fully loaded touring w/ sport, 7K miles, for $29,999.
Granted, it was President's Weekend and the dead of Winter, so they were desperate. I drove 2 hours to get it though. Like many are saying, it's all about searching for what you really want... |
Well I am headed over to ohio to check out the 2010, with the feedback here and research looks like I need to get them in at 26 or lower to be an ok price, great would be 25k. I should just wait till the dead of winter but I have the itch haha!

How do you guys know what states are better for buying a car?
Like I live in Tennessee, should I be looking in my state or in the ones around me or what? |
To-day I don't think it matters ...
It all depends on how far you're willin' to travel to get the deal you want Make sure they're a reputable dealer , check every thing closely and get a Carfax report |
Struck out again, told me on the phone they were willing to deal, got there and they wouldn't budge a dollar...oh well...think I'm gonna wait till winter at this point. tired of this game
. |
This is why i always deal by email and i make sure i get a price in the email. Otherwise it's just false lies to get you to come in.

The place I was at yesterday lowered the car from 28,493 to 27,994 on auto trader today, yesterday they wouldn't budge a dollar.. screw them. the place with the 09 Nismo with 26k said they would do 27,900...
I work in the auto biz, so I never think the deal is good enough, and the market for these things are not great, thus I see the wisdom here. I have our whole sale manager checking the auctions and still have not found exactly what I want. I am thinking of waiting a bit and finding a used 2011 so I do not have to take the oil consumption gamble, most of the cars still have power train warranty, and I know the local Nissan techs, but its still a pain if it happens..oh well the search goes on. |
