Price check! Used 2009 tour/sport

Sold my 350z last night but in the mean time I have been haggling a dealer for a black 2009 sport/touring and have them down to 26k via phone and email. It is about 3 hours away, and I plan to go see the car this weekend to see if I can beat them any lower...the cars has 21k on it and appears in excellent condition. For some reason 25k seems like a good price, any thoughts? Also it was actually bought in 2010 so it still has 5 mons. base warranty active.

I would go lower, prolly around 22-23K OTD:tiphat:

I low balled at 23 and they countered with the 26, that's where I am at now, they gave me the obvious BS we can easily get 26 at auction, I happen to know they are going for 23-24 at the auction lately. Only issue may be is that its been sitting for 2 months, so they could be buried in it thinking they would make a nice profit off a sports car this summer...Let the games begin...Im hard head in person, I pity the fool, can't wait to go in person ;)

nmjaxx9 08-30-2012 09:44 PM

yeah well a lot of base models 09 are going for 22, so I guess a touring sport would be a lil more expensive

BUT tell them the 13's are already out, 09 with 21k should be sold cheaper, and in person dealings is always the best good luck!

does it have nav? if so 26k is a decent price

yeah glwt thats way lowball, this isn't a base model he's talking about

Joepro 08-30-2012 10:16 PM

no nav. thus I think 25 might be the middle point...

Joepro 08-31-2012 05:34 PM

Ive been shopping a lot, true bases models the lowest I see on auto trader and cars.com is 23-24, so figure 21-22 by the time you bargain, creeping into the touring is 25-27, and sport touring 26-29 seems the asking range, but we are going into the fall...their chances of selling this thing are getting lower by the day...Im think 24-25 is what im gonna stick to. I can afford 26, but 25 just sounds better...if they let me walk for a grand, they are buried in it, there will be another!

Yes and the 2013s are out, like I said before with a touring/sport will be a lilttle bit more expensive lol....so just try and do the best remember that you have to factor in dealer expenses and taxes, so say you get the car for 25k you still have to pay dealer taxes fees, depending on that state that will put you over a grand or so, if you can get this car for 25K OTD that would be one hell of a deal.

Joepro 09-01-2012 03:06 PM

26k is everything but tax, all the fees etc, at least that is what we agreed to, which we started at 26,800...I will pay tax in PA when I register the car. We did not do a whole lot of negotiation in my opinion to get to this point. I happen to work at a dealer(Honda Service) so I have a few eggs in my basket, just wanted to know if the price is on point, I would pay a total of 27650 for the car with taxes and fees as it is now. if I can get them to 25, it will be 26,500 total, which seems reasonable, no?

nmjaxx9 09-01-2012 03:09 PM

Yes 26,500 is pretty fair, forgot to tell you before just as a benchmark check truecar.com and check what people are paying for the same car near you. :tiphat:

Infiniti Of Chantilly, New Infiniti dealership in Chantilly, VA 20151

Not sure how far you're willing to travel but this just came onto the market in Northern VA. 09 Sport/Touring 15K miles, they're asking $25.9, I'm sure you could get that down another G or two. Or use this to bargain down the price of the one you're looking at. Good luck either way!
