I don't know if they changed it, but you can't stream music with bluetooth, even with the Bose. You need to to plug in your iPhone/iPod/whatever, using the AUX jack. If you get Nav, which I'm not sure is available on the Nismo, that will allow the iPhone/iPod harness.

The Nav system is not available on the Nismo, unfortunately. =\ No streaming for me, it looks like .. unless there is a 3rd party option. On my RX8, I bought an adapter the head unit of my car stereo that adds bluetooth streaming support. I wonder if there is something like that available for the Z..?

The only problem now is actually finding the color I want with the bose audio option. There aren't any available in Arizona .. and the dealer my sales guy tried in California isn't returning his calls.

It looks like the best option at this point is to just order one and have it built for me. Looks like I'll be waiting until November for that, but would save on shipping.

Also, I've posted in the Audio/Video forum a thread about bluetooth streaming. If you guys have any experience with that on the Z, I'd love to hear it.

Thanks again for all the great info!

Hello Naenyn. One thing I'd be asking myself is whether the minor changes from 2012 to 2013 justify 9-10k more. IMO red brake calipers, lines and the Bose system do not, but if its worth it to you them go for it. Best of luck either way you go...you'll love it.

tjlazer 08-22-2012 04:39 PM

^ this. I would just get a 2012 or other mint Nismo and get a stereo installed. Save like 10G's.

Also remember the car just came out, way too soon to be negotiating. Especially with a new refresh and color combo. Dealers will use that to stand their ground.

Good luck!

:iagree::iagree::iagree:TJ Lazer is right...even if you get the 2013 do not get the Bose. CMike2780 hit it on the head...bluetooth is only for the phone and there is definitely no navigation for the 2013 or any year 370z Nismo. 3K will buy you alot of audio hardware that will kick the Bose's ***, plus you'll get navigation and superior connectivity (inputs, wireless). Don't get the Bose!

Cuban Z 08-22-2012 10:36 PM

Naenyn, check your PM.
If you're set on the Bose you can always stream to an FM station with an adapter. Not the best but it'll work.

Naenyn 08-23-2012 10:32 PM

Problem is, the Bose audio package also comes with Homelink and auto-dimming rearview. I imagine adding these would not be difficult, but still, it is outside of my comfort zone. I'm not normally the type to add things to cars I own.

Also, I'm financed through USAA for the price of the car already. I unfortunately don't have the money to drop for a new stereo for the car. I probably won't for a while, either. I really think that, given my situation, the Bose audio package is the best bang for the buck.

I do appreciate the input and advice! I will likely reach out to you guys for suggestions when the time comes that I am ready for a better stereo. =]

Check out car direct. The MSRP is $46300 with Bose.Their discounted price is $44000.

Naenyn 08-26-2012 06:44 PM

Going in tomorrow to place my order! Wish me luck! Hoping I can get them to do something more with a discount on the price. So $$$...

look into truecar.com for pricing based on actual sales in your area.

I gave truecar.com a try and got prefinaced on USAA.com (which used truecar). I think I'm good to go on price.

Does anyone know offhand if the mirror that includes the rear-view cam also includes Homelink? In otherwords, can you get Homelink by either having that rear-view cam kit installer or by buying the Bose package?

martin82 08-31-2012 12:56 AM

If you get the optional rearview cam it comes with homelink, autodimming and compass. I installed it myself

Excellent, thanks for the tip.

Think I'm going to skip on the Bose package then, get the rearview cam, and an aftermarket stereo.

martin82 08-31-2012 06:31 PM

if ur gonna upgrade stereo yes, I would opt out on the bose....print out the truecar pricing, take with u to the dealer and have them beat it, there's still just a tad more there..... that's what I did
