32404 --> 36212 out the door?

ok well tmv pricing says 32404 for what i want, white sport package and a couple of optons. so i try to get some quotes and about 4 dealers call me and we set up appointments so i can come in and try 2 get some out the door quotes.
but!
because im only 18, 3/4 the dealerships politely tell me to get lost (the funny thing is i could buy the gt-r cash if i wanted to..)
so i finally get to the 4th dealer. he shows me some cars and then we go inside and start discussing prices. at first he was trying to sell the car to me for msrp, and at that point i just showed him the tmv pricing with invoice and everything. he looks at it and says ok and says he has to talk to his manager. he comes back with a tmv price report that somehow says something like 34k? idk how he got 2 change things around like that but ok. but i told him nothing more then tmv pricing + tags taxes and license etc. so i ask for an out the door quote so i can just leave this bs and he says even with my pricing itll cost 36212 out the door.
idk if thats a good # but i dont think it is so im wondering what others think. so let me know if thats a good price or not.

how much is your state tax?
how much are they charging you for doc fee's and other BS like glass etching or mabye protectant?

I ordered my Z for 37,500 (invoice) and my OTD is 40,100 or so, because of tax and title. They did charge me for the glass etching but I was ok with it since the only other people willing to sell me a Z for that price was 600 miles away.

Just do the math. "Out the door" is the sale price plus tax and tags. Anything more than that and they are screwing you.

I'm curious as to how you could pay cash for a GT-R at age 18. There are really only a few options. You may be in a boyband. You may have invented Facebook. You are very good at online poker. You sell drugs.

Ummm do you want to buy me a Z pleasE?

idk about the fees and such he didnt say but my state tax is 6% so thats about 2k there if theyre charging me for the etching thats bs and i dont want it, the paint protection is bs also same with the warranty that i dont want

Surely someone has done a story on you. It is rare to find an 18 year old market prodigy that has never taken a net loss, even in a market that has taken huge losses. Is your last name Madoff? It sounds like you have been able to do something that guys who have spent their life around the market haven't been able to pull off. Guys like Trump and Buffett are having a tough go of turning a profit with this market. It would seem to me that guys would be lining up for your advice if what you say is true.

nogoodname 06-21-2009 06:48 PM

that takes pretty damn good skills and luck to average that much per week...the stocks are slowly bouncing back now.....slowly overall

but on a daily and/or weekly, you could make some coins pretty fast on the stocks, it fluctuates quite a bit

Not trying to troll, but why are you giving this kid such a hard time? Who cares what he does or how he makes money, it has nothing to do with his original question. So what if he's lying, if that's the case then your only giving him what he wants.

Besides, a lot of 18 year old have that kind of cash. 98% of the wealth is in 2% of the population's hands. And 2% of 6 billion = a lot of people. I'm not rich, but I have three friends ages 21, 22, and 23, each with multi-million dollar trust funds. It's really not that big of a deal.

fly yellow 06-21-2009 07:54 PM

A lot of people have worked very hard to buy this car. The kid asked a question, but he had to throw in the fact that he could pay cash for a GT-R. That's obnoxious bragging. It's pretty unusual for an 18 yo to be able to shell out 80K for a car, so I wanted to find out what he did. If it's his parfent's money, then good for him, but he said he is a stock guru. I find it very strange that a guy that can master the stock market can't figure out if a dealer is screwing him on a $33,000 car. I also have found out that most people that truly have money don't talk about it.

mom died giving birth to my sister, who also died, soley b/c the doctors suck at life. they got sued for a wrongful death and my dad and i got money. i turned 18 in january. thats wen i got the money. for years ive been into stocks even b4 i had any money. im not saying i havnt lost money. some days ive lost as much as 5k however i go by net gains by the week. and since i got my money i havnt had a net loss. **** if i made a net gain every day i wouldnt care if they charged my 1-2k more

btw my best friends dad is a multi millionaire and hes been giving me tips for over 3 years on the stockmarket since thats how he has all his money. but im using my own strategy and so far its proven to be very good. my personal fav. quote by him was "ehh ive been better, lost 500k today... ohwell ill make it back tomorrow."

also im strictly short term. not long term like buffet. i know how buffet if cuz thats kinda who im trying 2 b like.

now.... is that a good price or not :o? id like to know ty

can you just answer my ? or go away? i have money and im not proud of how i got it ... sorry if it sounds likeim braggin but my mom and sister died... y wud i brag about that? and also i love making money... i was a manager a my local food store and making 10$ an hour wasnt good enough so i looked into stocks and sicne i had money 2 play with i started small (with 1k) and saw that after a month i was having a good net gain. so i bumped it up to more money each month. honestly... idk how my strategy worked with stocks and idk how much longer itll work but for now im making money.

Sorry about your mom and sister. Invoice pricing is all over this site, but a good price for a base model w/sport is about 32K. If you want an automatic then figure about 33K. To figure out your "out the door price" then just add your state sales tax and tag and title fees to the price. If dealers aren't paying any attention to you then try and take your father or another older person with you.

Brazilbro 07-01-2009 12:44 PM

You happy now:ohsnap1:

whoady4shoady 07-01-2009 03:25 PM

I do see where fly yellow was coming from, but there are just some very wealthy people out there. Some are lucky, and some come into money in unlucky ways. We are all people and have different things we must struggle with in life. For some it is money, and for others it is not.

Cjanik 07-01-2009 10:53 PM

is this your first year investing that kind of money?

your in for a shitload of taxes to do in the end of the year.

I dont have the guts to gamble my money like that, wow.

GingaBreadMan 07-01-2009 11:48 PM

That price is not that bad. I paid 35,000 otd. Shop around a lil more mayb u can get a bedda deal. Don't argue over a few hundred dollars, but a thousand is worth the wait.

Caravanshaka 07-02-2009 08:57 PM

I got a base+sport with every option you can get from the factory. I paid ~33,250 out the door with 6.25% sales tax, however I had a trade worth 15,500 so that much of my purchase wasn't taxed.
