New '11 370z Advice
I was hoping to get advice on what I should offer on a new '11 370z, Touring with Sport Package - MSRP 41,685
It doesn't come with the nav. package and is on the dealer's "storage" lot. Currently, it only has 17 miles on it....so it's brand new, except that it is an '11. I got an e-quote at 36,651 which seems like it would be alright if it was a 12, but I am kind of balking at that since it is an 11 (doesn't bother me). I am switching from an '05 Xterra and was hoping some fellow z owner's could give me some advice/perspective. Thanks! :tiphat::tup: |
They are offering it at cost (below invoice), but if they have a new 11, they should be will ing to take a hit on it. Offer 3500 less and see if they will split it. The car is over a year old. Make sure the rotors aren't warped, tires aren't flat and the battery is good before you take it since it's been sitting so long!

Given what the Nissan dealer posted here...try looking for a 12 if you can. If you are buying new, get it new.

Thanks for the advice on both fronts...I'll probably swing by or call later this week and let you know how it goes.
Cheers and happy 4th! |
Congrats and welcome!!

The Sales Manager came back with $35,151 on the 2011 Touring, that's rougly, 6500 off MSRP.
I'm on the fence if I want to take this deal or not right now, as it was my second color choice (Brilliant Silver). I may list my X privately, and keep shopping given everyone's input. I realize I may pay a little more, but would have peace of mind and hopefully be able to find a black cherry '12. Given this information, would you agree with my thoughts or is this a crazy good deal to walk away from? Thanks again! |
I think they can do better than that. I bought my black 11 with touring and sport (no nav) for 35,500 in May of 11. The car is technically 1 year old now so make them go lower or just go for a 12.

2011 models have steering lock problem?
|
I want to thank Koeppelnissan on the negotiation piece and the rest of the forum members for their advice.
I am going to keep shopping and get the Z in the exact color/model I want even if it's a couple thousand more, it's really not that much when I'm already paying 35+ to get it exactly how I want it, and the merits of this deal certainly do not override the other factors. Cheers everyone, you've been awesome and I will touch base once I have my own Z and join the club for real! |

It couldn't hurt to low ball them and see if they nibble. Offer 32k and see if they'll come down any more. They're probably losing money on it already but what the hell! If they won't come down any more than I agree with you just spend a little more and get the color you like and the little stock oil cooler! Good luck

I think they should go lower? Bought my new '11 last year in August with sport/touring/brilliant silver for $34,98X + tax

Your anecdotes along with the koeppel's advice on a starting point more than reinforce this decision. I got the feeling they were playing games. Had they bit on his advice for 32,151 it would have been an immediate sale, but it went from no we can't go any lower to well maybe we could do 35,151...between the deal and the game like approach I decided to take my business elsewhere.
I could have used the money to add aftermarket sound and nav, which sounds appealing...chances are I'll still do it anyways even if I pay more. I understand it's a business and if it doesn't work on either side, that doesn't hurt my feelings, but I CANNOT stand games. Anyways, I will def. touch base when I pick up my Z...you guys are amazing! |
