How To Find a Very Specific 2011 370z

Hey All -

I am interested in buying a very specific used or new 2011 370z as follows:

* Gun Metal Exterior/Persimmon Interior
* Touring
* Sports Package

I've asked several different local dealers if they could find one to no avail -- none said they could help. I've scoured autotrader.com, cars.com, and can't find one anywhere. The persimmon interior, seems very rare, especially with gun metal exterior.

I'm willing to fly out-of-state to check out a car, and/or have it shipped. Any advice on how to properly locate one?

Not sure if this is the correct forum for this question, so I apologize in advance. Thanks!

-J

Seeing that 13's are about to roll into showrooms, a new 11 will almost be an impossible find. Try looking for a new 12, there's 0% financing on them now as well. As far as color combinations go, make sure that it's an available combo through Nissan by trying to build one at nissanusa.com

sometimes you may have to sacrifice on some options especially if you are not ordering a new model. Since existing models maybe already sold or in short #s for the specs you are looking for, I would recommend being flexible on the options.

Now, if you were to order a new model then you could order one with your specifications and wait for it. But since you want a 2011, I would say go to a couple dealers, tell them what specs you are looking for. Meanwhile keep researching on cars.com. I found it very helpful during my car buying process. Some dealers told me there were no new red 2011 370s anywhere on the east coast. I jumped on cars.com and found my baby sitting in a nissan lot in NJ. :rolleyes:

So just be patient and keep your research up online and with dealers, also keep in mind what I said about being flexible on your specifications as this is a 2011 model. Do that, and you should be able to find what you are looking for, or atleast one close to it :tiphat:

+1........ Trying to get a new '11 will be pretty tough considering that '12 is no being made any more. I would say get a '12 & take advantage of the 0% interest for up to 60 months & 2.99% for 72 months until 4/30/12. There has been a lot of people in this form that took advantage of this offer including myself.

I'm trying to get a 2011 (used is fine), specifically because the 2012's no longer come in persimmon + gun metal. They do make the color combination for 2011 though.

Will keep being persistent and patient through cars.com and dealers. Thanks!

It may end up being a better value in the long run to buy a 12 and add persimmon interior on your own later, the dealer may even help you out since its just the seats and door panels that change not the entire interior.

Oh wow, is that possible? I did not know that, and that would solve all my problems. The dealers I've talked to never mentioned that.

Good luck! You are basically looking for a needle in a hay stack. According to this website there were only 25 Persimmon GM compared to 1031 Black GM.

Nissan 370Z Production Statistics

Like Isteve said, you are probably better off negotiating with the dealer. We have a local member who had the dealer put in customer Persimmon interior in his MB. It looks just as good if not better than the OEM seats, not to mention the dealer threw them in to make the sale happen.

Worst case scenario you buy new seats and door panels from Nissan and sell your stock ones here to recoup any cost, people always want the touring seats especially if they're new. Most cars interior color changes the dash, headliner, seats, carpet, door panels, console etc; with the Z it's only the seats and door panels so that equals simple fix.
