Trading in my 11 sport for a 12 nismo, dealer issues,
I went to where i got my z 3 months ago, ( landers nissan-huntsville) and their telling me they want 13k and my car for a new 12 nismo. they originally told me 17k in the morning, all day long on the cell phone, i was getting text msg's stating lower and lower figures. their sales manager and then g/m texted me late in the day saying 13k and my car o.t.d.
Did my z loose that much in the short time i've had it.? I have 4,100 miles, eibach springs, stillen air and exhaust, 6 spd, back up cam, illum plates, mats, mud guards and 2 tone seat covers. Zero scratches or issues anywhere on it. I'm fine in keeping my z now, just wanted to see what the deal would look like and man, was i shocked. I know i've posted this elsewhere, but didn't see this price related section, sorry. |
Not worth it. A full Nismo kit painted and installed is 4k and the 15hp bump is nothing.
|
Including the hi wing.? Thats a sweet price. painted/ installed huh.?
|
Yup, I was given the quote from a dealer.
|
Save a ton, buy the nismo seibon wing u can find it brand new for under $550 and paint it I have mine in CF.
or buy the EvoR High Wing they got. Straight bolt on stock holes. |
the front and rear bumper without paint or any installation stuff is about $1200-1300
|
martin,
do you have a site for that one.? sounds sweet. |
4K installed seems like a sweet deal. Z1 wants $5783.71 for the full kit:
NISMO Z34 Full Aero Package They also have just the rear bumper: NISMO 370Z Rear Fascia $779.25 Plus, then you'd need the wheels, another 4K or so... |
front bumper $725 free shipping
GENUINE NISMO EDITION Z34 370Z FRONT BUMPER DIFFUSER | eBay remember the brackets and stuff will be expensive.... |
The nismo only had a 2k premium over my 40th at the dealer. So 4k for a Nismo body kit plus another 2k for just a spoiler....:shakes head: :gtfo2:
You can get the Amuse kit for around that. |
Dam some of you guys love spending money. Keep your current Z
|
I agree with the others, not worth it! For $13 Grand I would just get the Nismo kit and slowly update your car to a Nismo. Get the replica rear wing and save over $2 grand. The whole kit is about $6 grand with the rear wing. About $4 grand for the whole body kit without the rear wing. (rear wing is $2,500 alone)
You can also get Nismo wheels cheap used off here. That's what I did., But mostly cuz I wanted a Blue Nismo! |

you could also get a different kit and different rims :)

You would have to be crazy to trade your 11 z on a 2012 nizmo. The nizmo is actually slight slower than a standard base model 370z in road tests. Your Basically paying $42,000 for a name plate, some body spoilers and a different exhaust, over the $36,000 sport/manual package.
Your always going to lose your ***, trading or selling a 1 yr old vehicle, on average a car or truck will lose 25-33% of its retail value in the first yr. The standard base 370Z with the sports package is really one of the best deals going on a sports car and the nismo is just a fancy factory package, that is designed to empty your wallet quicker. Educated or knowledgeable buyers know the standard base model with the sports package and manual are the best bang for your bucks. Stick with what you have with only 4k miles on it and be happy with it. I used to get caught up in the old manufacturer scams of having to have , the latest and greatest thing out, costing you much of your hard earned money. This is a really losing game and you can never really keep with it. The best thing you can do with any vehicle you may own, is to just drive it or use it till you are really sick of it, or it just plain, wheres out, or breaks down. In the car buying and trading game its best to drive your car for at least 4-5 yrs. or 55K miles on it before you sell it , which ever comes first. Once a car gets more than 55k miles on it or if it is really old, they will tend to sell it off to a wholesaler or auction it off. Not wanting to risk dealer repair problems. Selling or trading a car before the 4-5 yr. rule of thumb really makes you lose a lot of money, unless you can find a private buyer or sucker to take it off your hands. |
