370 demo, what is a good price
Looking at a 370z new, with sport package and manual transmission. It's a demo car, that they say was driven by the owner of the dealership. As of now, it has accumulated 1100 km on the odometer. You can see it at NISSAN 370Z Touring Coupe 2D 2009 - Cobourg Nissan Ltd.
Their asking price is 45798 CAD. Dealer said may knock off a couple hundred bucks for the mileage, but other than that price is firm. MSRP for a brand new car is 45898. Invoice for this car in Canada is 42249 including freight, and 300 for the hakone white color coat option. What is a good deal for such a car? I don't think a hundred or two off MSRP is enough to cover the fact that it has 1100 km on it. What should my target be? Invoice? Or slightly above invoice? And at what price should I just say no thanks and walk away? Thanks |
NO WAY dont get it man - you can get a car w/ less than 10 miles on the clock for UNDER invoice - forget MSRP...

So the owner of the dealership was using it as a company car, basically. That car is as good as used with that kind of mileage, I would demand a huge cut on the price and just leave if they refuse.

In fact I was rather hoping to get more feedback from Canadians about the supply/demand status of the 370 over here and how far dealers can be pushed before refusing to sell. And to be honest, the only reason I'm considering this demo is because I wont have to wait till the end of summer to take delivery of the car. Heck, I don't even like white. So its either get this demo, or go for the g37 sport which is plenty available in infiniti dealerships. But I definitey won't be buying a car with 1100 km on it for a mere 200 bucks less than MSRP. |
have they done an inventory check across Canada? get the dealer on the lookout for any last-minute cancels from other customers. it happens! and a few hundred dollars off for 1100km on that car is unacceptable. The model year is nearing the end, and the car HAS been driven. It should be much closer to MSRP if not lower. If the dealer won't budge, I still wouldn't get it. Let someone else take the hit (though I highly doubt anyone would - the dealer will end up reducing the price)

a Dealership near me has a Base silver 6MT 370z for 38998...also the canadian base is a Touring model....it's only a thousand off MSRP and it has 800+ Km's on it.
so MSRP is 39998 there price 38998 Invoice is 36682 demo's are used cars...i would buy this at 32 to 34K max plus taxes you can imagine how ppl drive demo cars. |
That's almost 700 miles on it, it's probably been driven like ****!
|
Those demo cars take massive beatings...
I would never pay my money for a demo car. Just wait and get a new one or one with lower miles at least! |
wait a second...it says 1400 Km's on it now...... i'll pay even less for it
think i should email the dealership....see what they say?? sorry about the thread jacking |
