Is this a Z good buy for what it offers?

I'm new here and I have been in the market for a used Z with low miles for a couple weeks. This is one of the best possible offers I have seen so far. I sat in this car a few weeks ago and I swear I could not stop thinking about it this whole week. So I called the dealership to confirm the price of $27,888 and it just so happened that they marked it down to $26,888 the other day. What do y'all think? Is there anything I should keep lmy eye out for? There is also a free carfax report on that page. Check it out.2010 Nissan 370Z, $27,888 - Cars.com

i think too high for a base no sport package and 18K+ miles. i would ask $24.5K

USAFControl 01-09-2012 05:23 PM

Ok, ...Um I'm only 20 so I don't have that much experience haggling prices with salesman, How would I go about talking him down $2,500 under KBB pricing?

I agree that you can find a better deal. You can probably get a 2011 base auto new for under 30k if you can find one. 3k isn't enough for me to go used with 18k miles. I used auto as a ref since your sis auto. If you're cool with manual, you can get it for less. There's a website I use for quotes which got me my 2011 Z for $1400 below invoice 7 months ago. I'm not sure what kind of deals it'll get you out where you are, but if you have a few grand extra to try to go for new, pm me and i can give you the site. At the time, that site gave me way lower quotes than any dealers were giving me through their internet sales depts.

...says it has 19" wheels and NAV so I don't think it is a base.

brucelidat 01-09-2012 05:28 PM

Oh, pics had base wheels so I thought it was a base.

I thought base only had 18" wheels...

Looks like an OKAY deal to me... 24.5 would be a steal pretty much

brucelidat 01-09-2012 05:31 PM

The pics do show a nav. Were sport wheels different in 2010?Mine is a 2011 and those look like the 18" base wheels and not the 19" Rays form the sport package that i have.

Yeah, base has 18" wheels that look like the one sin the pic, but you pointed out that the description says 19" wheels. Either something was different in 2010 as opposed to 2011 or they wrote the wrong info.

Maybe it's just a base (meaning non sport package) with a nav upgrade and they wrote the wrong info down about the wheels.

I believe they typed that in wrong, these wheels are 18's. The only thing is that 3 grand makes a difference to me because my budget with out the door pricing is 28,000. I'm almost positive I can haggle them down to 26k, esspecially with 10k in hand and a 2009 Scion Tc trade-in. That will leave me almost perfectly on budget. Always looking to get a lower price by all means though!

brucelidat 01-09-2012 06:12 PM

Most important rule of haggling is be willing to walk away. Try to find some other options though. If they know they're the only ones who have what you want, you're at a big disadvantage. Either find some other Z listings or lie and say you are considering some other vehicles. If they know you really want that car and there aren't others around, they'll be less likely to negotiate.

USAFControl 01-09-2012 07:23 PM

Ok, thanks man! Already printed about three listings around the area that would make them want to lower their price to keep me around  I hope it works, also, I might go in there a few days earlier just to give me enough time to walk away if need be to get them to budge a little bit more! Bhahaha :D I'm getting stationed 5 minutes from Ft. Walton Beach set for the 25th, so I don't have too much time to work with.

that is aftermarket nav, JVC. Its a base, non sport. I think the price is high.

You can use USAA's buying service and get a brand new one for 29800.

Hold off until after you move. Put a couple months of car payments away for additional down.

Yup. Looks like a KW-NT50HDT or something very close. Bluetooth, HD Radio, etc. http://www.crutchfield.com/p_105NT50....html?tp=20212
