what I did for below invoice on a 2012

1-2 weeks ago I picked up a 2012 370z. My boss showed me this website before he bought a car few weeks back (volvo) using this method.

It is ZAG's website American Express | Car Buying Home Page

This will show you exactly what you can buy the car for and discounted and at what dealer. You can take the print out and literally go to dealer and pay that price! I went to look for 2011's but there werent too man with colors I wanted, so I walked away after getting same invoice pricing as listed and paying off my lease of $1500 for 2 months on my x5. I walked away and dealer calls me same night and says he can get me a 2012 whichever color/option I wanted , they just need about 4-5 hours the next day to go get the car. AND they would honor same pricing on that 2011.

Lastly, I told them I will finance, and what is the best rate they can do because I can get 1.99 through penfed so they need to match or beat it (pen fed is like 2.99 for 60 months!). They ended up getting me 1.99% financing through capital one for 60 months.

do u have to be a member of amex?? if so i should register for there credit card !!

Maro, you can also go to Truecar.com and get a pretty good price (no membership needed). In my area the dealers thru Truecar are offering 2012's at ~ 1k below invoice.

true car and zag will price pretty much the same.

martin82 11-16-2011 07:44 PM

you don't need to be a member, just enter your phone number, email etc. Just heads up dealers will call you. But you can literally go with that numbers on there without signing up. Then go to dealer! and tell them to do better!

nice! i own 09 base coupe right now and i wanna get 2012 touring coupe wit the persimon interior / sport pk which the price came out to be little over 35000 from tha website ,,it would be an awesome deal if i can get it at that price,,, but too bad i have wait for couple month cause im trying to buy a house

martin82 11-16-2011 08:27 PM

ic, you will actually get it cheaper than that! you'll see! I basically had them give me the car at invoice, plus pay off my lease on my X5 about $1500 for 2 months, then i had them throw in the front and trunk mats etc. And I found out not long ago mine was the 1st 2012 out per my vin number!

That's about a 41k msrp. If you could get 35k that be great, but it may be tough.

Honestly you are going to lose money as you are going into another Z. You already have a Z, just save and mod it. Trade in and get the same car maybe with a slightly different interior (Touring) isn't really worth all that hassle IMO. If you have the cash by all means go ahead but isn't a financially sound move. I'm not sure if you have the sports package now or not. You can save money for mods or something. Your money your choice

What packages do you have on your current car?

martin82 11-16-2011 11:25 PM

I think a trade to nissan will yield you the highest if you are trading for another Z since you can make them pay more for your car. Carmax won't go over 1 penny from what they offer you. Either way, first negotiate on the price, later bring ur trade in.
