09 touring sports pkg+nav

Ive been lurking on this forum like forever! And i finally found a model that i want. Exact color and options that i wanted! It's pearl white with persimmon interior. Like the title says, it's 09 touring with nav and sports pkg and has 10k miles on it. It's listed on cars.com for 30k dollars. I haven't talked to the dealer or checked the car out yet since i live about 7hrs away from where the car is located. What do you guys think of that price? I've done searching. 09 with low miles, touring and sports pkg go for about 27000? So is 30000 about the reasonable price for this vehicle? What do you guys think?

nmjaxx9 10-29-2011 02:37 PM

For the specifications you listed, touring sport, nav and 09, 30k seems fair, but that will not be the OTD price, dont forget to factor in those dealer taxes and fees. Keeping that in mind, I would say room for negotiation is def there, if you can get it for 27-29k OTD, then I say it is a solid deal. Call up the dealer and get more information on the pricing, especially because winter is upon us, and 2012's are on showroom floors, you can expect dealers to be flexible on pricing.

pedZ 10-29-2011 02:48 PM

There is definitely room for negotiation here. Call up the dealer and see how much they are willing to work with you. I think you could knock off at least 1K.

Slrlal 10-29-2011 07:26 PM

I asked my friend to negotiate with them cause he has better talking skills. And the dealer said he could give it to me for 26999. Im not sure if thats the otd price cause i wasnt with my friend when he was on the phone. I guess it's a good deal?

Yeah, that sounds pretty good.

mjd77 10-30-2011 06:09 PM

26,999 sounds pretty good and I'd assume that's before TTL but that's still a good price. I'm personally looking for an '09 base + sport + MT and 25k is about where I want to be. Unfortunately I haven't found a dealer yet who wants to be anywhere near that number.

The used market is much tougher to negotiate price as there are a lot more variables, like mileage, condition of the car or even modifications.
Keep pressuring the dealer a little, also keep an eye on how long a car has been sitting on the lot. Longer the time the more they are willing to work.

Slrlal 11-02-2011 05:51 PM

After I decided that I need to hear it myself, that they are willing to sell it for 26999, I called them my own. And the guy who I talked to said 292xx was the best price lol. I guess I need my friend to do all the talking work lol.

Perfourmance 11-03-2011 09:28 PM

Dude, white with persimmon is sick...10k is really low too for an 09! If they'll do 26,999 you should do it!!!! before I do ha g'luck

edit: NADA clean retail for what you listed is 32,475....with the Nav and Persimmon option, doooo it

Slrlal 11-04-2011 02:37 AM

Im still negotiating with them lol. Anyways, there's one in my area 11 brand new pw touring with nav and sports pkg o.0 but it has 7x miles on it so i'm assuming it was like test drive car.

Slrlal 11-05-2011 01:00 PM

Guys I need your help!! Their trying to stand by their price which is 29865. What do you guys think I should pay at most? I think PW, persimmon exterior touring with sports pkg and navi is hard one to find. So I was thinking about just getting it at their price. Also, when you buy car out of state, do you do all the paper works at the dealer?

I just found a 2009 base with sport package in blue with a manual for $25000 before tttl. It's got 11k miles. Yours is equiped with navigation and its a touring so throw in another 4k for that equipment and make it $29k. If you could get it for 28 grand I think its a good deal.

Slrlal 11-05-2011 04:39 PM

I thought navi was worth 2k? Anyways, so I should aim for 28k before ttl at most?

7419sundat 11-06-2011 02:40 PM

I bought mine over a week ago. Its a silver with grey interior with all options 17000k like the one you want and i paid 28450 otd price excluding plates. That was about a grand over what i wanted to pay but when u find the car u want i just figured a thousand bucks wasnt too bad u know.

Where? That's the combo I'm looking for and 25k is where I want to be and blue is in my top 3 color choices.

Slrlal 11-14-2011 01:38 AM

Can anyone in or near Williamsville, NY test drive it for me?
They seem to not going to give any deal for me, so I'm just going to go ahead and get the car if it's in a good shape.
Thanks in advance!

Slrlal 11-14-2011 04:34 PM

Ok guys... I just talked with the dealer again. I asked 32k OTD and they gave me 31445 OTD. I put 500 deposit down and planning to go to the dealership on Friday to do paperworks+ pick up the z. I'm putting 8k down and got 5.34% interest rate( is it low or high? considering I'm 21 and this is my first time purchase. I am going to go to other banks to see if I could get a better rate). They said my monthly payment is going to be 414 a month. Anyone know anything about Nissan extended warranty? The extended warranty was included in the payment which they said is about 20~30 dollars. They said everything except brakes and something else were all covered by warranty.

Mikes350z 11-14-2011 05:05 PM

I just bought the same car, except it is Magnetic Black 09, 11K miles, fully loaded with Nav and cold weather package, persimmon/orange seats. 6-speed, Nissan certified pre-owned which gives it 84months/100K miles from its build date.

paid $29.5 and got them to deliver it from Virginia All the way to Boston. you price seems good if it includes the warranty, but if its certified pre-owned then you dont need that warranty.

Slrlal 11-14-2011 05:46 PM

I don't think it's certified. So it would be better for me to get the warranty? I think I saw somewhere on this forum that some dealers try to make money off of you by adding extended warranty. As first time buyer, I'm kind of warried about lots of things lol. How much did you pay OTD? And did you check or look at the car in person before you purchased it? I'm warried if it has/had any problems. It would suck to drive 7hours to find out this vehicle has anything wrong with it and then drive another 7 hours back to home lol.

awkwardturtle 11-14-2011 08:37 PM

Just for future reference, when you negotiate, you never ask, you simply tell. You hold the bargaining power.

When I bought my first car when I was 17, those bastards tried convincing me time and time again that 22,8xx was THE price for a new Civic SI, blah blah blah. Eventually I said "Look, $20,200 is simply the most I can and will pay for this car. Thanks anyways." Walked out, drove home, got a call the NEXT day saying he had been approved to sell it at that price.

IF your price is realistic and reasonable - I.E, they can still make a profit off of it, they will work with you to get the sale. The problem is with a sweet car like a 370, they know they get you invested emotionally, and you'll agree to mostly the terms they lay out when it should be the other way around.

5.34 is pretty high, but since you probably don't have a credit history yet I can see why it is that high. I would still shop around like you said to see if any other banks are offering you less. The Nissan extended warranty covers everything but brakes and tires, I would say it is definetley worth getting, I personally did not get it, as it brought my monthly payments over 500, and I wanted to stick to under 500. Also, I am confident that since I purchased new, and I know my driving limits and habits that I should not have any issues. Since you are buying used, and you said its not certified used (not covered by original manufacturers warranty) it is more incentive to get the extended warranty. Dealers are not necessarily trying to make money off you, they have to offer these things at the time of purchase its part of their job, whether you accept or decline is your decision.

Now since you are first time buyer and you are worried about the condition of the vehicle, I would recommend getting the warranty. Also, before signing any papers make sure you test drive the car, if you have a mechanic buddy bring them along to make sure everything looks good, and ask questions! Also a quick VIN look up of the car never hurts. If everything checks out., you should be good to go.

Good luck.

Slrlal 11-14-2011 11:56 PM

Thanks for the input guys! like turtle said, they tried to get me emotionally. The people I've talk to were like z is a sweet car, interest rate is pretty low, warranty is great and all other things you could say to make you think your getting a good deal lol. You never know but I didn't think they tried to rip me off haha.
nmjaxx9 - I think I am going to get the warranty. And of course will test drive before I sign anything. I forgot to ask for carfax today, but does carfax show all the things the vehicle went through?
Also, what kind of things should I be looking at when signing the papers?
Thanks again guys!

nmjaxx9 11-15-2011 09:16 AM

Yes, if you run the VIN through car fax it should show you a complete vehicle history report, including previous owners, accidents, and etc.

Update:
I drove 7 hours up to Autoplace Nissan/Infiniti at Williamsville, NY with no sleep. But unfortunately, didn't get the vehicle. I thought my salesperson or dealer, Cindy was so unprofessional. She tried to rush me through everything to get me sign the papers. Even when I was looking at the car which I thought was in perfect condition as they said, they tried to bring me to her desk and rushed me to sign papers.

I'm not sure if you can tell the difference on the picture but front, back bumper and side skirts paint were way off from the body color. They looked like ivoryish color. It had clean carfax and all but had paint issues. I asked them if there's any way they could repaint it for me or give me a better deal. They said no. At this time, Cindy goes to her manager and brings him to where the car and I was. They were like paint comes like that and I was like WTF??? I know a lot of Nissan/Infiniti has problems like that on PW paint but this one was serious. Later on, the manager tells me that paint is like that because Nissan adds "chip protector material" or something like that to paint lol. Now again, as I keep bringing out the paint, Cindy and the manager tells me that I'll have to decide whether or not I'm going to sign and get the car cause there are few people waiting for this vehicle lol. They kept on telling me that there are other people who called in for this vehicle and that they didn't care if I didn't buy it. I told them I'm not gonna get the car and asked for my deposit and downpayment. Cindy told me that she have to charge me 55 bucks to get my downpayment back because they already put the vehicle under my name. How professional is this? I didn't even sign anything or gave them any permission to do so. She had bad facial expression since I saw the car and was all red when I asked for my money back lol. Anyways I got my money back and walked out. About 8 hours drive back to home. Wasted my time but I guess I learned valuable lesson from my first step at buying car lol.

nmjaxx9 11-18-2011 10:33 AM

Well atleast you didnt buy the car, its good you made the decision to walk out. That whole excuse of the paint comes like that is bull*****. Usually if they try to rush you and say that others are waiting....good chance no one is really waiting and most likely they were trying to force you to hurry up and sign the papers.

The 55 dollars to give back your deposit sounds like they just wanted compensation for holding the vehicle....basically they wanted to get something out of you..they weren't gonna let you leave there free of charge. Plus 55 dollars and 8 hours of driving is still better than buying a car you are not fully satisfied with. Just keep checking websites like cars.com, you should be able to find another car.

Slrlal 11-18-2011 01:20 PM

Yea I'm happy that I didn't get this vehicle. Well they didn't even get the 55 they wanted from me. I've been on this forum more than 3years(i had another acct) and was lol when they said things about the paint. If it wasn't the paint, I would have bought it since it was hard combo to find and it's my favorit combo.

Thechidz 11-28-2011 03:50 AM

I hear ya make sure you find the car you want. I found my 09 with sport, touring, nav got 4.99 interest with ZERO down and under $30k. only 14k miles too keep looking your cars out there

Slrlal 11-29-2011 03:09 PM

Where did you look at? I'm currently checking cars.com and autotrader.com at everyday basis. No luck finding what I want yet.

just lucked out and my local dealership had one. I originally wanted black but when I saw the blue I was pleasantly surprised and now I love monterey blue. Are you looking for manual or auto transmission?

Slrlal 11-29-2011 06:09 PM

Manual of course hehe.
