trade??

Well yesterday, I test drove a base 370z w/ some options at 34k bluetooth, camera, door sills, etc.
In talking to the dealer, they are willing to offer me the 370z for my 2011 Explorer (paid 35k).
The payments will be identical and untouched, and I will have to pony up a $1000. that's it.

it is very tempting.
the insurance will bump up $30 a month.

seriously tempted.

yah, dont let your wife have all the fun with the G. get it today! :icon17:

Man... an explorer and a 370z are on such opposite sides of the spectrum...
Personally, I would love to have my 370z along with a larger suv (like your Explorer).

Just remember, the Z can't hold sh*t and definitely not as comfortable to drive as the Explorer for long periods of time.

Do it. No question.

Keep the explorer unless you have another DD that could hold lots of Cargo space. You could live without power to the wheels, but you can't fit a medium size grill you bought from Walmart to the Z.

just get a roof rack for your wife's G and you're all set for the grill. :icon17:

I have a 2001 Mitsubishi Montero Sport..the wife hates it though.
I use it to go to haul, mountain bike, etc. It is old, smells, and rattles.

but great for utility.

you still got a couple of hours before the dealer closes. :D

Do it.

Eh, your call. Side by side it's pretty much a wash. You could argue the Z has a slight advantage in handling, but you can't beat those downright sexy Explorer looks. And Nissan doesn't hold a candle to the famous Ford reliability. You know what they say about FORD, right? Flat Out Rapes Datsun.

Let the mission drive the gear.

Going from an SUV to a sports car (with really no room at all to put stuff -- hardly even enough for groceries) will be a shock. I also noticed you live in Texas -- so having a winter vehicle is a non issue for you. I love my Z touring with Nav, and I wish I could use it as a commuter all year round but I live in NY and winter sucks.

I drive an explorer and the wife drives an explorer. With 3 kids all in sports I don't think we could get by with the Z and a sedan. You need to look at how often you need to haul things that don't fit the G and dicide if keeping the G or the explorer is better for you.

Thanks for all of your feedback.

After a long discussion with my wife.
We found a car that better suits both of our needs.
Audi A4 Quattro. The 370z is awesome looking, and is a true sports car.
But this is all-wheel drive, good for snow, turbo...a heck of alot of fun...and has 4 doors to keep the wife happy. I pushed for the 370, heck it was even less expensive..but getting a 2 seater would not work.

I also drove the WRX STI, and it was a little to "boy racer" for me.
The Evo is cool too, but kinda flashy.

thx all.
