Ordering a 2010 Model
I'm going to be ready to buy a Z around this time next month. The dealers I've gone to all tell me it would take about 90 days to order my car since no one around here has the combo I want. This would mean I'd have my car around mid-September. I've heard that the 2010 models will be out around September/October. I figure I'd be better off just getting a 2010. Does anyone know when dealers will begin taking orders for these?

If you can wait that long, then sure wait for the 2010 models. I'm not sure when they will start taking orders for 2010.
I'm getting a 2010 model, checked with my nissan dealer and they said they'd be happy to place an order for 2010 models and nismo ;)
Did they give any indication of when the 2010 models will be out ?
they said the earliest is sept
If you do a custom order ATM I think it will be longer than 90 days due to the current factory schedule, and that you will be only able to order a 2010 model.
They haven't realeased any information on the 2010. The 09 just came out. It may be Sept. when you can order a 2010, but will take 3 months from the date of order to arrive at the Dealership. You are probably looking at Dec/Jan.

There's not going to be a difference in the model. I wouldn't want to wait that long. Enjoy the summer with a Z.
The new AT and clear coat is on already. What happened to me was bought the 08 G37 (1st model car) and the 09 model got a better AT and the clear coat thing. |
what is this clear coat "thing" you speak of? if it a better clear or what? just curious.

When you have swirls. Just park the car in the hot sun. The resin will activate and will fill in the swirls.
cool. thanks for the info.
Wait....is that technology even appliled on the Zs? I never got a confirm from any of the sources...
if anyone finds out before the first week of june (when i'll order my Z), let me know if the 2010's are more expensive, or harder to get invoice on.

I'm leaning towards waiting on the '10 model myself, but do so knowing that I'll pay a slight premium for a newer year model. |

Im waiting for the 10 model as well. I was at the dealer on friday and they weren't sure when ordering begins for the 10s and Im still waiting to hear back...
So I just heard back from two of the Nissan dealers by me. Both of them seemed pretty clueless as far as when the 2010 ordering/shipments would take place, but they told me to expect delivery sometime in the jan-march timeframe. Again nothing concrete but that was the timeline I was given. I was told that they are still taking orders for the 09 model for another 60-90 days which were I to order now would mean a late July/early August delivery date. Now I need to decide what to do, though Im leaning towards just waiting the extra 3-4 months for the 10

it's not like a late 09 model and an early 10 model is gonna differ too much, nissan will prolly intergrate any fixes as production continues for the 09 model, that way they don't have to do a mass recall. but i just ordered mines 2 days ago and i'm looking at the same time frame
^^ your probably right. Im still gonna wait and put my money on getting a 2010 model though just for self assurance.
Ill be waitn for the 370zX (meaning 2010)
370zx?
I was just thinking that if the convertible is going to be entering the showrooms in the august/september timeframe as a 2010 model, wouldnt the same apply to the coupe? I know that for a while they sold the 350Z vert alongside the new 370 coupe, but wouldnt it stand to reason that the 10 coupe would be in showrooms the same time as the 10 vert and Nismo?
If I remember correctly, C&D quoted the 2010 Convertible @ 40K!! That is pretty hefty!
Have there been any fixes or modifications during the 09 model run?

I had emailed Nissan directly in regards to the changeover date for 09/10 production. Here is part of their reply.....
