I would be satisfied with base with navi... |
funny in canada on the G37S there is no cost differance if you get the at vs mt
wonder if it will be the same with the Z |
My mom has a M35 with the Navi system... WOW! And the voice command system is so amazing... I say "106.7" or "105.9" and it tunes the radio. It understand EVERYTHING I say no matter how screwed up I say it. My friends didn't have so much luck, but I don't really care if it works for them as long as it works for me.
The navi is VERY cool, though. Fast, accurate, and if it's got the traffic nav, unbeatable (accept by my Nokia N95 8GB. The navi system on that is just unbelievable.) I'm definitely getting Navi on mine. :) |

That's likely possible. A lot of times, manufactures put most of the wiring harness in for all the different options and you can simply plug them in when you get them. However, I'm not 100% sure about this since the Navi is just a software/hardware UPGRADE for the system that is already in the Touring package... The thing is that the computer is wired to almost everything in the entire car... Tire pressure, OBD, Audio System, climate controls, etc... So I'm not sure if they wire the base trim for all that stuff. But it's a good chance that they do.

I was wondering if this Navigation Package is able to play DVD discs?
Does anyone know anything about that? The Pioneer Z3 seems to be able to play DVDs. |
Does anyone know if the UK "370Z GT Ultimate" that includes the Satnav will be the same system the US model has with the hard drive etc..? The brochure PDF I have just refers to it as "Integrated satellite navigation system".

Im new to the forum. I just got the Sport Pakage. But I will like to have a Nav system on my car so I can get rid of the none usable hole. But reading the chart it seems to be impossible. The only reason I want the one from the dealer is to control it from the wheel, but if this is not possible I guess I prefer to get a Pioneer, is cheaper and with more options than the dealer.
Can someone direct me to the right place. Is the Nav from the dealer can be installed and controlled with the Wheel? if Not and I install a Pioneer, what will happen to the Stock Radio? Thanks in advance. |
Anyone installed the NAVI package on a base model? Is it possible? Is there a mounting kit that can be used to replace the storage cubby?

Check the audio/video forum as this has been discussed quite often in there.
To answer your question, it is possible but why would you want to? None of the Z's are prewired for Nav, so it would be extremely expensive on cost and especially labor. I think cost wise it's around $2000 and that may not include the all the wiring. The labor by the dealer is going to kill you. So why spend upwards of $5 grand or more on the stock nav, when you could spend a $1k or less on aftermarket with more options and a Nav that will work better. With that said, I believe this is why no one has done this yet. You can also get a PAC device so that you don't lose your steering wheel controls. |
Yea his right. I went to the dealer and after they told me I can do it later when I bought the car. After I showed up they told me is not possible because there's no wiring for it and they tried to sell me and aftermarket for $3,000 LOL. Sure buddy.
I'm looking for the dnx7160 it seems a nice unit. |
I have the Tour/Sport/NAV model and love the combo. The NAV is the least useful to me, but if you use a cell phone, the blue tooth function works so well no one knows I am on a speaker phone. I bought a pay as you go phone just to try it out. The music box is fabulous and my favorite part. No more fumbling to change a CD or being somewhere without the right tunes. I always know where I am going before I leave home so I have yet to use it in need.
Is it worth the price? I got a deal of $32,900 for entire package. At $2500 additional, I would need to talk on the phone a lot. |
