Deal or No Deal?? that is the question

hey guys,

Ive been looking for a Z for some time now, and I finally found a car to my preference and price. I was looking to pick up a Z this weekend, but wanted to know from you guys if this was a deal before I go with it? Its a used '09 370z base (w/sport package) OTD for 30k? The car has 22k miles on trade in. Drove and checked out the car and I fell in love with it. Few things that didn't excite me about the car was that it was not a certified pre-owned vehicle because I'm buying from a non-nissan Dealership and there is some curb rash on the rear driver side wheel about an inch wide (but nothing too noticeably). This is the first car I am financing so unfortunately I dont have much credit. They offered me 4.5% for 60months. I'm putting half down.

What do you guys think? Thanks in advance.

I think you can get a better deal. You should be able to get a 09, sports package model with 22K for a lil bit less. You have room to negotiate there. Also, the interest rate is kinda high, even though its your first time financing, and the car is not a certified preowned, which means it has not been inspected by the original manufacturer, and the original warranty from the vehicle will not be carried on. For peace of mind and for how much you are paying, I personally would not go with a vehicle that is not certified used, there is nothing wrong with it, but if there are problems in the future with the vehicle, atleast with a certified used vehicle you know that the factory stands behind you. I would shop around more, to try to find a better deal.

I agree, you can do better. I just got a 40th for 31,700 and it has 8k mi. Lots of nice Zs for sale right now, good luck with the search!

Hey guys, thanks for the advice.

I was looking around at the average price going for the area I live in and I'm paying almost a grand less. I'm paying 27,400 but after taxes and licensing is 30k? I have been look at out of state cars but the distance is too far for me and I don't want it shipped? I do agree that the rate seems a little high. hmmm...

They're have been a few where the price was better but someone always seems to snatch it away before me. haha

28k OTD, 2k price reduction? deal? or keep looking???

id say deal, especially with 4.5% apr, thats pretty good for no credit.

Get them to throw in a tint or polish job or something if they havent already. The road rash is physical damage to the car. Someone hit a damn curb in that thing. Make them realize this.

Just my personal opinion...

I wouldn't finance a 2-year old car for 5 years.

I bought my Z 2010 black brand new off the show room floor in June for 31k. You can do better. :tiphat:

Is this an auto or manual? For an '09 base + sport + MT I wouldn't go over 25k before taxes.

Seems high for the mileage. Try to get lower or check cars.com, lots of used and certified on there.

Too expensive. Coworker got his 09 Z same options for 30k OTD NEW. I'm sure you can do better.

flynushi 10-31-2011 03:19 PM

wow, I'm selling mine for 29k and its '10 base w/ sports pkg with less then 6k miles... dealerships are frightening sometimes >.< when I bought mine I stayed there for almost 3 hrs until I got my asking price. :P

I say deal. Some People manage great deals on here. Not sure how. Maybe part of the country but 28 otd seems good to me
