Might be changing my mind
I was going to order the sport package coupe but I was convinced by family/friends/girlfriend to get the Nismo 370z. Here in Canada though, I'm not sure about the availability of the nismo 370z, should I jump on the quickest available nismo or do you guys think production will pick up so that I have more selection?

Nismo isn't worth the extra cost. Take the couple thousand $$ you'll save and invest it into your Base/Touring with Sport Package and improve the suspension/power/wheels.

new record for nismo bashing, first two responses. OP, get whatever car makes you happy (not your g/f etc) nismo or not. /thread. |

Op asked for help, And I don't see Nismo Owners jumping to help in his decision :ugh2: |

First two responses were that the nismo's not worth the $$ and to buy a differenet trim Z instead. Neither reponse answered his actual question and also did bash the nismo Z instead by saying it's not worth the $$. As far as his actual question, I guess it would depend on if he is patient or wants his car now. Oh, and just for you: :ugh2: |
Here is a NISMO owner jumping in to help the OP.
Chicks dig NISMOs. :ugh2: Seriously, I love mine but it is a garage queen. I do not drive it very much and so I look forward to each drive like it is a reward. Get what appeals to you, when I saw the NISMO I knew it was what I wanted and I could care less what others think. If you prefer the base/sport, get it and don't let anyone influence you. In the end you have to pay the note and it needs to make you smile when you look at it. I know mine does. E |
i think Nismo body kit is hella sexy
|
NISMO's only come in one trim. Only thing you have to decide on is the color. Get pearl white NISMO....soooo sexy.

I'd be sensitive too if I severely overpaid for a badge on a car

P.s. I never bashed the Nismo. I said it was beautiful. I said it was exclusive. I just said if you save the $ and invest it back into the car it may be more beneficial. |
White Nismo = Win
You don't even have to mod it anymore =) |

I actually want silver, lol.

I'm also interested in a Nismo. After hearing all these negative feedbacks about the 370z nismo, I'm starting to doubt it. I heard the suspension for the nismo is very stiff.

I've been extremely satisfied with my Nismo. However, I went the used route and bought one with very low miles (4k) for just about the same price I was seeing a lot of low-mileage touring/sport 370's (around 30k).
However, my rational was this: I absolutely love the wheels, and really awesome wheels + tires are very expensive; it is a stiffer ride (I saw this as a plus) so I wouldn't have to modify the suspension immediately; the body of the car just makes me **** myself I love it so much, so basically I'll never have to do costly aesthetic mods; also it has an aftermarket exhaust on it that has a great tone, if you don't mind it being slightly on the quieter side. Finally the exclusivity is more than just a badge; the 370Z is holding its retail value very well, and the most exclusive trim will always be worth more. If you want a better stock sound system, an auto, leather, a factory GPS, or to put your own more unique body kit on the car then I would say go ahead and avoid the Nismo. But be true to yourself and don't listen to what anyone else has to say about it. Get the trim you love. I know all these points have been repeated but I just wanted to share my opinion because I did not originally intend to buy a Nismo as I thought it was out of my price range. Just goes to show you there are deals out there especially in this economy. |

The negative comments in this thread are from folks who don't own a NISMO. I love mine and I bought it because it is what I wanted. E |
If you are not racing you don't need the NISMO but that doesn't mean you shouldn't buy it. It looks great but just don't expect any huge performance advantage. Really for me it came down to if I wanted the touring package or the body kit of the Nismo. I got lucky and found a sport tour with the nismo wheels and went that route.
I personally didn't think the ride was that harsh. Maybe I'm just use to harsher suspensions.... |
