370z - What to mod?

What should be the first things on my list of additions to a 370z I will be buying ^_^

Base model, no sports package.

depends on what you intend to do with the car. would you like to start with performance, looks or suspension/braking?

NewYorkJon34 05-09-2011 09:16 AM

Please tell me the car is at least manual?

Depends on the amount you want to spend as well. I'd lower the car, change the ugly base wheels, replace the exhaust... the list goes on... HFC/intakes, body kit, BBK, headunit, paint headlights, speakers, tint, etc

It does say M6 under his username.

first mods based on direction you want to go imo..
Looks: springs/wheels (it is a toss up)
Performance: cbe (this is an easy one imo)

I would say exhaust, it can be a complicated and a sensitive subject because there is alot of options, opinions, performance results. I would say try to keep cats if you care about warranty and not worried about performance. But for performance get test pipes and cat back of your choice. I love how mine turned out after a few hit and miss.

and you live in Urbandale? so do I.

Stillen gen3 intakes should be your first mod without a doubt.

It all comes down to how much money you want to spend & more importantly the end goal of the car.

In spite of what you'll see from other Z owners, I say stick with the base rims. Believe it or not, I got a lot of compliments on them. Not from Z owners, but from just about everybody else. In fact, I'm of the opinion that the only better looking rims you can buy for reasonable money are second hand 19" Z rims. Most of the decent wheel options out there don't improve on the looks by that much.

If you're on a tight budget, I'm a fan of the rear fog lamp for a cheap starter mod.

Exhaust

Personally for me the non warranty things. Mostly sight and sound. Clear Bra and a nice detailing might be a good thing to do first.

I second getting a new exhaust. For me the stock exhaust was too timid. I wanted something that actually sounded like a sports car. I realize these days that isn't what a lot of people want but it was for me.

I'd pay it off first

but the most used ugrade is the sound system

saw an article that postulated we probably spend more time listening to

music in our cars than at home...

Go boost.
