By the way, I went with medium tinting and the VentureShield. I have to say that after 6 years of 3M ClearBra on my 350Z, the VentureShield looks a lot better, visually speaking. I had the full hood and front fenders done, along with the lights, front bumber/fascia, rockers and pillars. They even put some additional material on the front part of the rear fenders where they flare out. They wrapped the material around the pieces whenever they could and it is virtually invisible.

Even with the 3M, lines were pretty apparent. But with the VentureShield, it is very difficult to tell where the material is. So far, I'm very happy with the product. Having that much material put on the car wasn't cheap, though...

hey guys, i am being offered $37.5 for touring+sport+carpets.. yeh or neh? appreciated any opinion

ocfoilist 04-23-2009 01:53 AM

Are you getting the nav package as well? Manual or automatic? That's a good price with nav, in my opinion; a little high without it.

makri007 04-23-2009 09:41 AM

no nav.. :( manual + says he will throw in the illuminated kick plates

ocfoilist 04-23-2009 11:52 AM

Hmm...I would probably work him down a bit. I got the illuminated kick plates thrown in for free, since I wasn't really interested in them but the car on the lot came with them. $37,500 for me on a Touring with Sport & Nav, along with mats, splash guards and the kick plates. It took a bit of heated wrangling, along with some advice from this forum, but they caved in.

Did you attempt to get VPP from your dealer?
:tiphat:

ocfoilist 04-23-2009 04:22 PM

I didn't go for the VPP because after pricing out the options and doing the math, the quote I received was basically the same thing. I think it was off by about $200. Given the convenience of just walking in and getting the car an hour later, I went with the quote.

That's the exact price I got, too! Grats on your new baby.

ocfoilist 04-28-2009 04:17 PM

Thanks! I almost drove up to your neck of the woods last weekend. There was a fencing tournament in Portland but I didn't get the car in time and decided not to break the engine in with a long distance steady speed drive.

I'm looking at your exact car but in red (and one in yellow). The yellow one costs slightly more since they charge more for that color, but essentially I'm looking to pay exactly what you did.

I'll be using this thread as a possible resource during my negotiation if they try to say I'm talking crazy.

The only other variable for me though is what I can get on my 2007 G35S trade. Need $25k otherwise it doesn't make financial sense since my car is a lease and has 15 more months. If I get any more negative past $25k it gets close to costing me the same as just keeping the car.

Wish me luck.

Good luck, U235! You're going to love it! Sales are definitely down so you have the upper hand. The only difficulty I had was availability. After calling half a dozen dealers, they all said the same thing. For the car with the options that I wanted (touring with sport and nav in a manual), there were only 3 on the west coast. So I had the choice of a blue, a silver or a yellow and that was it. But they were anxious to deal and I like the blue, so it all worked out fine in the end.

Post some pix when you get the car!

makri007 05-01-2009 07:54 PM

good luck in your search U235. i had the same experience as ocfoilist. There were only 2 that matched what i wanted on the mid-east coast sea board. the dealer will try to use as a way to stick to their price quote. Don't agree to it. Some other dealer can always exchange the car from the dealer who has the z. I got $1k off just by going to another dealer and told them about the location of the car. They took me down and I drove the new z from the dealer who had it (about 100m) away. It was a great way to get started on the z performance :)

I just purchased my touring for 33k (includind destination) which included the aero kit, mats, illuminated kick plate, factory tint, nitrogen tire fill, and splash guards. It came in under invoice, and I was able to talk them into more for my trade. Good deals can definitely be had right now.

Nice car (and price), you will enjoy!

Zvengeance 05-03-2009 09:37 PM

you got a deal. i was 370z shopping this weekend and the same car was going for 40,###. congrats on the purchase.

could you explain how you got them to agree that low for a fully loaded 370z?
