Should I buy the 2011 Nissan 370z or wait for the 2012 370z?

Im looking into purchasing a nissan 370z soon, the thing im wondering is should i wait for the 2012 or buy one now.

I am in no way a car enthusiast or racer so if the 2012 and 2011 have fairly little difference, like HP and design, ill jsut buy the 2011 rather then wait.

This car will be used for fun, showing off :icon18:, daily driving (maybe), and the casual race with friends but not hardcore like fast and furious.

you mean you dont live your life a quarter mile at a time? damn.

If you can, I would probably wait until more info comes out about the 2012 models and then make a decision. Otherwise, if you find what you like, get a 2011. I'm sure you'll be happy either way.

You said you are looking at purchasing a new Z soon. The 2012 won't be out for quite some time - 6+ months.

Yeah, but if they fixed the issue with fuel starvation, that's most likely worth the 6 month wait. :icon18:

Pretty sad that even if I pull little G's with quarter tank of gas that I would get fuel starvation. I mean, it's still a quarter tank of gas. If this was a case, might as well put a 14 gallon gas tank instead of a stupidly large 19 gallon gas tank.

Well, whether the model year improvements are worth it or not, I don't think anyone has details on the 2012 to provide yet.

Buy the '11. You just know there'll be a price increase next year.

Unfortunately due to rising oil prices and diminishing value of our almighty dollar.

I would wait. I heard from my friends cousins personal trainers wife that she went to a Nissan dealer and the janitor there told her the 2012 is going to have unicorn blood injected stright into the engine for an increase of 98hp and cleaner emissions.

wouldn't prices of the Z go down since gas prices are high and the Z don't exactly get the best MPG?

No. The rise in oil makes it more expensive to build and ship the Z, which is still manufactured overseas.

I heard there will be a diesel next year and a turbo diesel the following year.

Oh man, turbos are so sexy... But diesel is not. I guess they cancel each other out. :icon14:

What do you mean by fuel starvation? is it because of the low MPG for 370z?

When talking about fuel starvation most people are referring to a few cases where when the 370z gas tank gets down to about a quarter of a tank it has issues with the fuel pump being able to get the last few gallons of fuel to the engine due to the design of the fuel tank. Having said that the suggestion of a 14 gallon tank wouldnt make any difference cause then you would be complaining about having to fill up on gas more often, most people who browse these forums know very well about the fuel starvation issue so it shouldnt be a surprise to anyone.

In keeping with my petition to be part of the OG here I just have 4 letters for you:

I .. B .. T .. L

:bowrofl:

All kidding aside, do what makes you feel good - you are going to get 100 answers and 50 will be buy now and 50 will be wait. If you find something you want, then pull the trigger!

Fuel starvation is typically a problem when you are driving on the track or driving aggressively on the street - the car stumbles when it can't get gas in a turn (or hard braking?) when you are getting below a quarter tank or so.
