Need advice for buying 370z

Hi, I just registered, I would like to know some info. I'm looking at 2009 370z automatic, it has 54k miles, In-Service Date: 05/14/2009. On website I'm buying it states that 3 tires have curb rash, front bumper cover and LF fender previously repaired. I haven't pulled any carfax on it or anything, and I cant personaly inspect it since its in another state, being sold through auction soonish. Was wondering if you guys would advise me if i should buy it, and if so what do you think should be my max limit to bid.

PS if not I will probably have to go back to looking at 350z, but I though since high miles I could get it for cheaper.

pps. fogot to add which one it is, but it doesn't state that thus ill drop what it includes so you guys can tell me

54k miles with all the other extra not so good mods. Good God. Agree with the $5.

GZ3 02-02-2011 10:41 PM

54k already?! 20k max for

valheru 02-02-2011 10:45 PM

well I was in the market for 350z but I saw this one and I though maybe the guy who owned it just drove it on highways to get that high of miles and thus wouldn't be that bad if it was taken care of.

Even if he claimed to only drive it on highways, he could be lying. 54k in two years is high, high mileage. It's 27k a year, just about twice the norm.

Avoid previously crashed (despite now repaired) cars.

Take my daily driver, for example. I drove it to work (33 mi each way), to school 3 days a week (20 mi each way), and on a couple of long road trips. I also drove it locally most weekends. In my first year of ownership, I drove 23k miles. That's above average.

by that logic it should be less, allot of us DD the our 370Z....but 54k is way to much

valheru 02-02-2011 11:25 PM

guess I'll let it go and see how much it sells for, theres another one that has 14k on it, but its black, and I don't want a black one. So I'll just wait for next auction date of new-used ones

You can't drive it cause its a manual for real men.

I wouldnt mind buying repaired cars as long as its cosmetics. If there were any damage done to the engine and was repaired, then i would avoid. Cosmetic damages are no biggie to me. Curb rashes are also not a big deal. Could happen to anyone and if its stock, who cares. Just dont scuff up your aftermarket rims. 54k is alot. I bought my car july or august of 2009. right now i have about 31000 miles.

Also.... buying a car off of a website is kind of a crazy concept to me. Can't inspect it? My Z was 3 states away and I still made the lonnng drive to see it twice. You also want to have it inspected by a mechanic before you buy (although I didn't, but I bought mine from a forum member) - especially if it was crashed in the past!

jaedub 02-03-2011 11:26 AM

holy crap, 54k miles already? its been almost a year for me and i still havent hit 5k

UNKNOWN_370 02-15-2011 07:33 PM

I would stay away from a car that has 54k miles and all sorts of road rash. It just shows the previous owner was an idiot and didn't take care of his car. I'm not sure how much you are planning to spend but this is an example of a car worth buying...

2009 Nissan 370Z Touring, $24,806 - Cars.com

You may have to pay up to $900 to get it shipped but it will still be less than $26k.

I wouldn't buy a car I couldn't visually inspect with my own two eyeballs. A great majority of online car sales and auctions are scams anyway. Don't do it.

ZeeingAround 02-15-2011 09:42 PM

Close your eyes and say" what am i doing?" Now open them wider and look for a car you and a mechanic can inspect.
